Wheel Horse to the rescue!

Looks like the plow tractor could use some wheel weight.

Howard, yes I was going to do inside (farmall CUB) and whatever I found for the outside but I wanted to keep hub cabs on as well when mowing without fluid for now, but since I'm replacing the well weather checked/dry rotting O.E. Dico tires I'm going with fluid and those, I have 75# weights fluid and 120# on the rear of my anniversary cab 520,Jeff.

I will be mounting my blade and adding the new edge this sunday....Boy am i gonna be tired....

I normally run a 42 inch blade.....i have a brand new 48" plow blade,,,,think its to much for my 8h.p.....and all the weight    ??

Howard the fluid filled ags and weights haven't been off my anniversary since they were put on, I'm AG tire person myself, I have hills to mow and the turfs just don't cut for me and I'm fine with chaining up for winter and obviously chains on turfs didn't cut it in clay and rotting swamp grass lol, BTW that's how my turfs ended up plowing snow ,Jeff.

WOW! You do have a nice assortment of tractors to choose from Jeff! Piles of rotting grass do get real slick when you try to move them! Been there and done that.

I bought a new "C"160 in 1974 w/loader, garden plow & deck and tried plowing the neighbors garden (under an apple tree) and

yup, you guessed it, I got hung up on an apple that dropped in the furrow. I picked the plow out of the ground, crossed the alley

to my garage and put bar-cleats on and had no more trouble, except for the calcium chloride eating up rims & truck bed over time. My point is I would put etheyne glycol or nonrusting fluid in the tires because calcium chloride used then caused me a lot of grief. Several dealers in the area had the chloride put in new units, and I'm Sure it came back to haunt them. BUT, what a difference the bar-cleats made, I have not worried with chains since.

Yes that calcium is some nasty stuff but the weight per gallon vs the other fluids is why they used it, dad's old CUB CADET 6-12's had it with tubes that went bad and rusted the rims before replacing tubes and tires, as well as our old Allis Chalmers C, I use RV antifreeze personally, and I believe they used Rimgard when I replaced the tires on my Kioti ck20,Jeff.

Jeff, Could you tell me the manufacturer and size of the portable shed you have the two tractors in? Are you happy with it?

I believe it is Shelter Logic brand  10'W x10'L x 8'T from TSC , got it on sale last year for the $ as a temporary shelter it has been ok it held the 24"+ snow in January but the summer sun has taken a toll on the "tarp" fabric all in all if you need something fast for temporary yes if thinking long term no come spring I'm investing in another 3 sided metal car port 18'W x21'L (like my other toys set under) for the tractors, Jeff.

That is cool!  I totally regret selling my '78 I had in high school.  Clean body, faded red with tan interior.  I blacked out the grille and took off the chrome wheel well trim.  I remember the day I found a set of Cragar S/S wheels and tires at the dump.  I was happy as a clam!  It was like I found a million dollars.  Just remember to use the right lug nuts on them... That was a lesson I'll never forget! Lol

Jeff, I saw a Ford blue air cleaner in a couple of your photos so was surprised to see all of the Bowties in the yard! Thanks for the portable shed info.

      Very Solid tractor!

Newer Agro Tires on Rear and Solid Front Turf Tires. Wheel Weights on rear. Fully Swapped Forward Swept axle off of 520h. I ran my 60" Deck on this tractor for over a year with no issues.
Deck it solid top to bottom with no rot and newer blades. Belt and Pulley are good to go!
She's just a little dusty and needs a cleaning. Can get a nice Seat a Tractor Supply.

      $1175 OBO   -POOS

      (248) 9for3-8six3four Text or Call. I do not visit this site enough. God Bless.

NEW SEAT INSTALLED ON THIS TRACTOR! Started it up and ran it for a while yesterday... Forgot how nice this thing is. Tempting to keep it but it's time to send her one her way. GREAT TRACTOR!

Now that we are finding more uses for the 1990 520H with a KwikWay loader I am experiencing some power loss in the hydro after about a half hour to 45 minutes??????
      Ideas?

Selling my trusty WH520H.  ~880 hours (currently used for moving snow when needed so hours may rise) very solid machine, strong and hardworking.  20HP Onan, hydro transmission and hydraulic lift.  Has Matt's foot-pedal conversion for forward/reverse.  Included in the sale is a tall-chute snow blower and 60" mowing deck.  The blower is in excellent condition and is on the tractor currently.  The mowing deck has been a workhorse over the years.  No holes but could use some TLC, probably needs new spindles at some point and could use a couple spots touched up with welder also does NOT have any pulley covers/protectors (see photo).  Tractor has been an incredible tool, very solid and dependable and I'm certainly going to miss her when she's gone.

Recent maintenance: replaced the plugs this summer, fluids as needed (hydro has about 100 hours on fluid/filter; oil was done in the spring and has about 25 hours on it).  Battery is about 3 years old as are the tires, Terra Trac tires on the rear and turfs on the front.  The seat (with arm rests) isn't in great shape.  I've got a cover for the seat, never used.  It's never really bothered me but new seat cover is included in sale as are 4 hub caps, chains for the rear tires, and some misc spare parts (see photos).

I've owed this machine about 8 year and put ~350 hours on her.  She's not a show piece but could be restored.  Sheet metal is generally in shape, no rust however the hood does have a couple dings in it.

I'm only selling because I'm trying to help my son get a small lawn care business started and looking to move to a zero-turn.  The 60" deck is too large for our trailer, the mowing deck lacks pulley safety shields, and we'd like something that mows faster.  My only complaint with this machine is the top-speed (which isn't great when comparing to today's machines) otherwise she's a beast.  They don't make them like this anymore.
