Dash and Shifter plate shrinkage/warpage?

I am working on a GT14 I bought recently, and I have a question. The Dash plate appears to be about a 1/4" under sized for the recess it fits into. The Shifter plate seems to be warping and also mis sized. Is this common, or were there slight sizing differences for these tractors? Or did someone replace the dash plate with one off a different tractor model?

Unfortunately,  the plastic covers on the GT14 are very susceptible to sunlight. Shrinking and cracking seem to be the norm.

Glenn Pettit, a vendor here, has nice replacement covers.

it would help to ascertain if your dealing with an original, cluged set up or aftermarket piece.

 

Oldredrider is spot on that they often need replaced after almost 50 years.

 

fading, some warping and cracking are what I have run into most. Not so much shrinking.
