boovuc 1,090 #1 Posted November 14, 2016 Hi Everyone, I haven't been here in awhile.......again! My neighbor has a WH 265 H that has served him very well over the years but he has a problem. His 17 year old drive belt for the mower broke. He measured it the best he could and went to NAPA for a replacement belt. (40 bucks). It lasted 5 minutes and it snapped clean. Way too much stress for what he bought. All his spindles are free and not binding. Nothing heats up including the belt. Idler looks good! NAPA could only give him a 3/8" V belt at 30 inches. He thinks it was originally 31 inches but they have none that length in a 3/8" V. It's possible a chunk came off of the belt and it's not the correct length. Anyone here have what the original belt number was? The WH number and possible a Gates replacement? Anything? He's a great guy that helps me a lot around here and I want to give him some help for a change! Thanks in Advance!
daveoman1966 3,745 #2 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) Find out the model number of your mower deck and go here to locate the correct belt: The 265-H has several decks available for it. Go here and search model 265-H, the select 'accessories', then select you deck by size....note the model # of your deck. Then load that model # here to ID the correct belt part #. https://www.toro.com/en/parts When you find a belt # (i.e. 92-6958), go to this site to identify it by size: http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/belts/#result Write down part #s as you move from site to site... ps...the belt # 92-6958 is 142.7" long x .5" w You can find OEM belts on Amazon. Just google TORO 92-6958 and you'll see what I mean. Edited November 14, 2016 by daveoman1966
