Fun Engineer 859 #26 Posted November 17, 2016 Great tractor Mike. My favorite model. I agree with the others. Leave it as is. It's a great piece of history. Check this out for your tub cart. It's what I plan to use on the inside of mine. Www.monstaliner.com Their Lady in Red is a perfect match and you can roll it on.

Commando 8s are one of my favorites. A few years back a friend of mine had one with a front blade on it. I wanted that tractor so bad. He let me borrow it once to push in some dirt after we trenched a ditch for an electric line. Unfortunately he got rid of it before I knew he wanted to get rid of it. BTW, throw the cart onto the trailer also with the tractor. Might as well donate both to me. Here is the one my friend had.
AlwaysLookin80 1,308 #28 Posted November 17, 2016 Great score! Complete and survivor condition. And the price was right too! Doesnt get any better than that, and with your luck you better go play the lottery.

Being as we are both neighbors and friends I never try to profit from a sale to him......today that paid off with some good karma! He calls me over and says " See this Commando 8 with the deck and that tub trailer, I'll never do anything with it and sitting outside isn't doing it any good, and you always offer me great deals so they're yours for the taking....FREE!" She doesn't run yet but did run a couple years ago so with a bit of TLC and a carb cleaning there is no doubt in my mind I'll have it running soon. All 4 tires seem to hold air and they all say Wheel Horse on em 👍 ! Pics of course...... Mike.... She is still looking good Mike.
peter lena 8,606 #30 Posted September 6 @Sparky , lucky you ! personally would get some penetrating oil , like KNOCK R LOOSE , NAPA , CHAIN CABLE , aerosol soaking into that rusty paint , never miss that opportunity , on any neglected metal , ANYTHING I pick up . is so easy , and its recovering that finish . would leave it sitting flat up right , maybe a tarp over it , to stop water , but hot sun and open is good for oil conversion . pete
