dandan111 31 #1 Posted October 21, 2016 Thinking about winter and I know my blade for my 314-8 is bent and twisted. I have washer fluid in my tires and wheel weights. Any thoughts on a new blade? I have straighted mine a few times over the years and it bends easier every time. I bought my blade new so it's not rusty or anything, just bent. Any opinions on installing a new berco blade on my wheel horse plow frame? I could also check into having one made at the weld shop or having them beef up mine. ideas? dandan111 31 #3 Posted October 21, 2016 I could go that route but suspect it will bend as the one I have has.

Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #10 Posted October 22, 2016 What are you hitting that has your blade all bent up? I can't recall ever bending a dozer blade. But either way, I would get a good welding shop to reinforce the one you have. Mike....
dandan111 31 #11 Posted October 22, 2016 Plowing sidewalks in town. Long runs. The way it's twisted looks like stress I guess. We don't get a lot of snow but what we get is usually wet and heavy anymore.
benji756 341 #12 Posted October 22, 2016 after getting it straightened you could use angle iron on it, put the v down on the tube and have it stitch welded along both sides, this could be done on all 4 sides of the tube
WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #13 Posted October 22, 2016 After straightening, like bengi756 above, have it reinforced with angle iron like this might be a bit hard to see but after I widened a 42" to 50" I used the angle iron to keep it from flexing,Jeff.
Forest Road 594 #14 Posted October 22, 2016 I found a Gravely blade. Cut 6 - 8" off top of it. Took necessary hardware off WH blade and welded it to Gravely. So I use WH frame and pivot. I think it's 1/4" rolled steel. Very heavy. The tractor or plow frame will break before the blade bends.
