oliver2-44 9,678 #1 Posted October 15, 2016 My 1st grandson Jeremy checking my 312-8 out I think Jeremy was saying.....Hey Gramps get this thing out of the shop and moving My son and Jermey out for his 1st WH tractor ride! He started crying when we took him off, so it was back on for a few more laps. Yes he's going to be grandpa's tractor boy! Picked up a NOS mid-mount grade blade and rear mount recently. It had a few rusty scratches, but had what appeared to be a waxy/oily shipping coating all over it. Grader is mounted in the above picture. I was amazed at how well it worked. As others have said, using the manual lift really lets you vary up and down pressure. Question - When I pull the handle to angle the blade, the handle hits the very corner of my 312-8 rear fender (with the blade in the raised position) Is this common, Could I have something mounted wrong (I have the rear mounts centered) or do I just need to bend the handle a little? No wear on the factory paint on the bottom of the blade. But we put it to work and broke it in. Quite a handy attachment. Now I need some more areas to grade!
jellyghost 378 #2 Posted October 15, 2016 Great photos! What year did that have the American flag graphic on the Wheel Horse? I have been wanting a grader blade. I have been wondering how much more effective it would be leveling new dirt than my dozer blade.

DougC 2,641 #4 Posted October 15, 2016 Won't be long before that young man will be borrowing that machine to grade his own property.
oliver2-44 9,678 #5 Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) @jellyghost My 312 is a 1985 which should have the maroon graphic to be technically scorrect. However I just liked Terry's American Series so I went with it. I got lots of complements about them at the Temple tractor show recently. I've only used the blade a little, and it depends on the hardness of what your trying to level. Bur if you have a little dirt to roll around it can really slick an area off. DennisThornton 4,769 #6 Posted October 15, 2016 I've been hunting for a mid-mount blade for almost 2 years and I find a near infant driving around with one!
oliver2-44 9,678 #7 Posted October 16, 2016 I hoping this grandson card helps put a few more things in my shed. If that infant could talk@DennisThornton I think he'd be singing Nanny Nanny Boo Boo You'd better sharpen those search skills especially considering your in the abundant WH state of New York. Of course I could also be very very lucky. as my co-worker likes to say ....."Even a blind hog finds an apple every now and then".
