pfrederi 17,662 #2 Posted October 11, 2016 Excellent question. What I do know is that Toro made all sorts of reel and gang mowers (including big commercial self propelled units for schools, golf courses etc.) for many years long before the bought WH. CasualObserver 3,408 #3 Posted October 11, 2016 Wheel Horse used multiple vendors over the years. Some were Roxy reels, others were Pennsylvania. Pretty sure there was at least a third too, but can't think of the name of it Perhaps @Wheelhorsestory could shed some light here.

Keep it up please! That would sure look good on my 654! I really don't know why they aren't more widely used. I've picked up 2,3 or 4 push reels with the notion that if I got enough I would try to gang them. I'm getting close. NOTHING cuts cleaner!
pfrederi 17,662 #6 Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) They cut well in good grass. As kid we had an Eclipse Reel Mower it did great on grass but when the narrow leaf plantain sent up it seed heads it wouldn't cut them very well. I got this one awhile back almost like the one from when I was a kid. Edited October 12, 2016 by pfrederi
