wessex horse 15 #1 Posted October 5, 2016 Hello chaps. I am very pleased to have found a dozer blade for my horse, however I use it to scrape muck off my lane; its very narow and the council don't care. No problems except the camber of the tarmac mean the LH side is off the ground. I assume the should be something flexible [rubber?] under the blade, there is a strip held on by coach bolts. Any suggestions please for some kind of makeshift substitute? Ta
Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #2 Posted October 5, 2016 There was nothing from the factory as far as a flexible scraper edge. I don't see why you couldn't get some heavy duty rubber and make one using the steel cutting edge as a template. Be prepared to swap it out often. Mike..... DougC 2,641 #5 Posted October 5, 2016 Yeah,, rubber whatever is available in your area. that works for you. I had to think a bit about coach bolts and then realized carriage bolts are what I am used to calling them. You have a crown on your lane and are trying to find a material to use on your blade that will conform to the surface to act as a squeegee to remove the muck. Tankman 3,518 #8 Posted October 15, 2016 Picked up a free Craftsman blade. Not using the blade, don't need it but, free so why not. Blade has an interesting squeegee edge. Home made from a tire.
