Special pulley on the deck worn out!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys first time poster and I have a deck problem. Usually I can fix this 1971 raider 12 but now the deck is the issue. The center pulley is completely worn out. The spindle has 2 flat sidesign on the arbor. I don't know what kind do of bore this is called or what part number this is. If anyone can help that would be fantastic!

Thanks

Kieran

Here is a parts list if the spindles are original to the deck.

This file shows the replacement spindle assemblies and their parts that were used over the years.

Kieran,

Looks like your located fairly close to my old stomping grounds.

I went to School in Christiansburg.

Its hard to see in the pic but inthinknyour indicating that the Double D flats inside the bore of pulley have worn round. As such, you may need more than a new pulley. You may hve to rebuild the spindle and replace bearings.

I have a set of refurbished pulleys. The Double D flats are not mint but pretty decent. PM me if you decide your interested.

i have everything cleaned up except bearings. Pulleys, Housing and Spindle Shafts.

I am on the search for a DD for the center. The belt broke and wrapped the pulley and the bottom part of the double center cast iron pulley shattered. If i cannot find one, I would consider grafting a bored out steel pulley to what is left of the original.
