Texas Todd 1,025 #1 Posted September 26, 2016 I was tinkering around on Craigslist and ran across an ad for a Wheel Horse Edger. Did a little research, here, of course, and learned it was a re-branded McLane. I used McLane edgers for commercial landscape maintenance when I was in school and they were bullet proof. The model serial number doesn't show up anything on the toro parts page, but I am guessing it was made in the mid-80's. Needs the correct negative action throttle cable and a new air filter. I think I have located both on eBay. It rolls very solid. Was tickled to find it. My son will be getting the MTD edger I have.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,295 #2 Posted September 26, 2016 You never know what some one will find with the Wheel Horse label . I have a newer MTD ( I think) edger that came with a Briggs engine 3 hr. Engine is shot so I am replacing with a 3 hp Predator . Tried to stuff a 6 hp Predator on it but too many modifications required. The edger looks about the same as your Wheel Horse. Texas Todd 1,025 #4 Posted September 27, 2016 Thanks Garry. I punched in the model # and got zilch. Ended up finding the same parts diagram under McLane branding, different part numbers of course. At least I hope it is the same, cuz I ordered it!
