another deck question

On the ID tag mine says 05-42MS05, the manual I found says 05-42MS01. What is the difference between the 05 & 01?

The difference is 4 years...not "the" year.  01 would be the 1st year it was made...05 would be the same deck 4 years later.    Pretty sure about this, but I have been wrong before.

At one time the last 2 digits of the model number were the parts list identifier. Same application but you should find a change in the parts. One about this time was a change in the spindle bearings.
