Best mower deck belts?

Recommended Posts

BeeGuy

I have rough terrain to ride over, and have had many tears on the belt from the motor to the mower deck and the mower deck belt. I usually just get a replacement from the local repair guy that has some space in the back of an Ace Hardware. Can any of you advise which company makes the sturdiest replacement belts?

I've not had any experience with various brands of belts.  But, for what it's worth, I have a '77 B-80 that I've mowed with since 1994 and just replaced the original :wh: belt with another Wheel Horse/Toro belt a week ago.  So I got many years out of it.

WHX??

I get mine here http://www.vbelts4less.com/ just cause they are local. Like most guys here I prefer the kevlar wrapped ones. I have gotten them from Ace or Tractor Supply with good results  in a pinch.

The Toro belts have all worked for me, but they are pricey and never local.  Lately I've been using Pix Kevlar belts (blue belts).  They have done well.  I usually get them at TSC.

Ive used the Huskee tractor supply co kevlar belts before. They seem to work good for the money.

:text-yeahthat:Huskee Kevlar belts on the shelf at TSC. Inexpensive and never broke one.

I label the sleeve with a magic marker; i.e.: 48" deck. Then I staple gun the belt sleeve to the shop wall. :handgestures-thumbupright:
