briankd 817 #1 Posted August 22, 2016 bought this last fall and now finally getting around to working on it. seen on here awhile back about using different things for the skid so it won't dig into gravel when using it . unfortunately I have a gravel drive. this blower has the steel wheels on it they going to dig into gravel. anyone use a different wheel or maybe even a two inch angle for like skies on the side? Thanks Brian
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #2 Posted August 23, 2016 Wheel Horse did have a skid for later models. Looks like they left the wheels on it. Once our ground is frozen it stays like that. I use a dozer until there is a hardpack/ice surface and then use a snowthrower with the wheels. Garry
JAinVA 4,619 #3 Posted August 23, 2016 Brian, The steel wheels work Ok on a paved driveway. There are some here that like the larger skids for gravel.I copied the larger wheels that another member put on his blower and love them for blowing snow on any unfrozen surface. If you do a search on my profile you can see the modification.I will never use the skids of any size again.JMHO JAinVa

can whlvr 993 #6 Posted August 23, 2016 when the gravel is completely thawed and soaking wet it can dig a little but I don't blow the snow when its that wet,i usually plow it,but these work very well, and a guy could make them longer if they wanted too
