Hello, my name is Mike

i live south of Indianapolis and have been watching a few wheel horses for sale and wouldn't mind getting an older one to tinker with

i have found one I really want for about 350$

i will probably try to purchase it this weekend

I believe it's a 520h

any information on it would be great and if it's a good price

Saw that one too. Hideous what they did to it. Depending on how it runs, might not be a bad deal. Of course it would take a LOT of work to get it back to looking like a Horse.

All I can tell you it isn't a 520. Likely a 400. Not a 300 because of the twin. If it's good mechanically that's a good price. The 48" deck is worth close to that. But PLEASE buy some red paint too. :D

Lol don't worry I don't care for yellow either

i have no clue why it's yellow to begin with

Looks like just a couple odds n ends and it'd be almost new

i think its been rebuilt

Another thing. The rear tires look new, and those things ain't cheap. Fronts look to be in very condition also. Too, it has the proper Wheel Horse hubcaps. They are pretty well sought after, and if you could get the paint off them, you might have some coin there too.

That is a 416.

It has the Onan engine and the Eaton 1100.

I see a 48" deck as well.

A new red paint job and a set of decals will have you back in business barring any mechanical issues.

If the engine runs, and the hydro works you are ahead of the game.

If the deck is in good shape with no holes and spindles are good, you have a real bargain.

Sure it looks terrible but a paint job is just skin deep.

I also see a rear axle attachment for a blade or tiller as well. If it also has the rear lift you really found a gold mine.

It looks like the kids of this house are spoiled.

A John Deere tractor and a BMW to ride around on.

If that yellow paint job is quality and If your creative you could get Terry our decal vendor to do some custom decals. Maybe a Railroad  theme like the sign in the background or a Srate Highway dept version.

I like red but I like creative variety too

The good; Lots of power. The bad: very thirsty for fuel. Maintenance tip. Keep the idler pulley that keeps the transmission belt under tension lubricated with oil where the bushing penetrates the frame on the swing arm, Very difficult to repair if the bushing [if there even is one and if  it is replaceable] wears through. Keep the engine clean even if you have to occasionally remove the cover tins to blow it out. Run the engine at high revs to keep it cool even though the thing has plenty of power at lower revs

Seems really strange that someone would go to the trouble to repaint it and change the color.

Maybe they just had leftover paint from their taxi fleet?

It's still got WH bones, no matter what color makeup it's wearing!

That must be the rare Industrial Model;  416 - I.   :ychain:      :WRS:     You will be able to use a snow blade on this with no problem. Add some wheel weights and tire chains and you will be amazed how much snow it will push.      Go get it!
