Granba 0 #1 Posted August 5, 2016 My 23D5xi is slow in forward OK reverse. When I go up a hill and turn steering to relief the tractor will stop. When doing the same hill in reverse the tractor continues to climb. What can be the cause?
slammer302 2,155 #3 Posted August 5, 2016 Welcome to RedSquare. I got a sweet deal on my xi because it was doing the same thing. It just needed the motion control adjusted at the trans
doc724 925 #4 Posted August 6, 2016 I agree with Slammer. Easy to do. Download a service manual from Toro
slammer302 2,155 #5 Posted August 6, 2016 Doc724 is right. Read the manual. If you take the back right tire off you will see the access hole for doing the adjustments
shallowwatersailor 3,213 #6 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) The instructions are in the service manual in the link below, and can be downloaded. The instructions are on pages 3-8 and 3-9. Essentially you need to jack up the tractor and place it securely on jack stands. It needs to be running to do the adjustment. On the right side is a hole in the frame with the adjustment bolt. You need to loosen the bolt and turn the eccentric until the motion stops. Tighten the bolt and check the rocker pedal in each direction. It should stop with the pedal at mid-point. Re-adjust until correct. https://www.toro.com/getpub/13127 Edited August 6, 2016 by shallowwatersailor
