Elkskin's mower junkyard 1,117 #1 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) on my dads 62 wheel horse we put the short frame plow on it from the 656. everything seemed ok until we went to lift it. it raised 2 inches off ground. my question is there a special rod for the early round hoods or could the roll pin be ready to sheer. this machine had a homemade plow on it for years with a weight box on plow with around 50 lbs or so in box. so i am wondering if the roll pin could be damaged. everything looks same from the 753 to 656 to 502 on way the lever parts lift hieght wise. it lifted fine 3 - 4 inches on the 656. right now we are using a chain to lift the plow Edited August 1, 2016 by craftsmanmowerfreak
Elkskin's mower junkyard 1,117 #3 Posted August 1, 2016 one pic with homemade plow is the 753. thats the plow that was on the 502 for years. then others are from 502. i think someone made those bracers so the tower didnt twist. lift is great on 502 with the chain. Ed Kennell 37,985 #4 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) It looks like the plow frame is hitting the spindles. I'm actually surprised it lifts at all. With that much weight cantilevered that far forward, I'm surprised the rear tires don't lift off. Sorry, I just reread the text. I thought you still had the home made plow on the tractor. My lift shafts don't have a roll pin. Is the chain hooked in the front hole in the horizontal lift lever? Do you have the lift handle all the way forward when you connect the chain? Ed Kennell 37,985 #6 Posted August 1, 2016 Just looked at the pic of the lift lever and your chain should be moved to the front hole. That should give you 1-2 " more lift.
