bulldog323 0 #1 Posted August 1, 2016 Does anyone know the proper routing of the pto belt to the mower deck. I am trying to help my father in-law with his 417-A and i need a diagram as to the routing of the belt. Also the new belt he was given is 1/2" x 102" belt. do you know if this is correct? Thanks for any help
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,037 #2 Posted August 1, 2016 The 48" width of cut side discharge deck uses a 1/2" x 103" pto drive belt. The belt covers on this deck are retained by horizontal bolts going into the reinforcement plate above the deck pan. All the other decks use vertical bolts going down into the deck pan. The 48" deck has the height adjuster on the left side because it will clear the rear tractor tire. All others are on the right side because they took advantage of the discharge chute to move the hardware away from the tractor tire. This manual should help Let us know if you need more. A later manual likely has better illustrations and the design is the same. Garry
