 I purchased my first Wheel Horse from Overbeck's Kalamazoo Implement in 1976.  It was a B-100  8 Speed. It has served me well over the past 40 years.  One of the best purchases I have ever made. Overbeck's was also a Ford Tractor and Implement dealer.  I'm not sure when they closed, but I think it was in the early 80's.

Bought my second Wheel Horse in 2014.  It is a 1978 C-161 Automatic.  It has a Hagen Tractor, Paw Paw, MI  decal on it.  They too were a Ford Tractor dealer.  I believe they were in business from around 1925 till about 1989.  During part of that time they were also a Wheel Horse dealer.

Bought my third Wheel Horse in 2016.  It is a 1983 C-145 Automatic.  I was not able to photograph the decal because of its condition, but this tractor is from Staley's Sales and Service, 1047 N. Main St., Bluffton, IN  46714.  Maybe someone else can chime in on this dealership.  In the photo, it is the one on the far right.

I have a few to add for my area.

 

Waco Sales in Wayland. They are still open and they are a good gun and hunting shop. As recently as the early 2000s, they had Toro Wheel Horse, as we got parts there. I don't know when they started welling Wheel Horse, but they were a distributor for a few snowmobile and ATV lines back in the early 1970s. They probably still have NOS WH parts.

 

Mid State Sales near St. Johns used to sell them. They still sell new Simplicity, Ingersoll and a few zero turn lines and have Wheel Horse parts.

 

Bush Hardware in Sheridan still sold parts for Wheel Horses from inventory the last time I knew, but I think they quit selling new Toro Wheel Horse equipment in the early 2000s. They still sell other brands new.

 

Previously mentioned was the Hastings True Value, which is now Ace. They do not sell any brand of tractors anymore, but they used to carry a large inventory. When they quit selling new Toro Wheel Horses, a place that sold used mower parts and did repairs a few blocks away got the Toro WH franchise for a few years. In 2003, just before I bought a new Simplicity, they almost sold me their last new Classic 315-8. They closed up a short time later.

 

  Giants Enterprises in Ionia probably closed about 2004. I had the owner put a price on their lighted '70s sign when they were closing and let me say it was right, but for whatever reason, I didn't get it or the Polaris sign I wanted. Ouch!

 

  Kingsland True value in the Grand Rapids suburb or Cascade is a Toro dealer that sold during the Wheel Horse era.

 

  Spartan Distributing in Sparta has been a Toro dealer distributor since 1970 or so. When Toro bought Wheel Horse, they distributed them. I don't know where local dealers got there stock from before that time. Spartan has distributed snowmobiles, golf carts, and a number of other things over the years. As a side note only I will find cool....I owned a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was bought in 1999 with 180,000 miles that was a sales vehicle titled to Spartan Distributors.

Schmidts & Serafines in Waterbury Connecticut was a Wheel Horse dealer and is still a Toro dealer. My Father bought his 1045 from Dick Tice in Cheshire, Connecticut. His lawn & garden center is long since gone.

I acquired a C-81 here in NC, 9/27/2016,  the dealer tag is still on the machine.

Went through some Class Year books at the Cedar Springs Museum and found a couple photos from the Cedar Springs Tractor ad which have the show room with Wheel Horse tractors on display. . Behind the gentleman on the snowmobile are some  photos also.

When we purchased our 310-8 in 1987, it was from Colonial Power Equipment, Monroe NC.   I bought two new tractors from them , an A110 in the 70's then the 310 in 1987.  Also two leaf blowers , a couple of chain saws and a 48" Exmark Walk behind. I ran a small lawn business  for a few years. 

 

i wish I had a photo of the small building/shop with the big Wheel Horse sign overhead. Pete only sold Wheel Horse. 

 

We left Ct in 89, they were still in business, several years later on a return trip I went by and they we selling other brands of Tractors, then near the late 90's they were out of business.

Casual observer I tried to locate kinville Nh but could not . Is it possible it's a typo? As I was wanting to research a little more from any local dealers.

I believe this list is a list of any known dealer the one your asking about does not have open attached to it so would be a former dealer. In my area Fullers is listed and says open and yes there is still a lawn equipment sales and service business located there but it's now the Power Barn. They can get Toro / Wheel Horse parts but if you go to Toro's web site they now direct you to D & G equipment in Mason MI.

There was some family named kinville that lived in Nh and owned a few different things... maybe you know more or where that source came from I can do some research on.
