stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #1 Posted July 13, 2016 So a few months ago I found a really unbelievable deal on this 1984 ski tique. I have been cleaning it up and had the stripe repainted. This boat came from the factory with lettering that was taped off and then painted the stripe around it so they never actually made decals for this year and model. As usual with I have a project I call Terry. He went above and beyond as always. The only ones he did not do are the two small ones in the back. Also not quite as many amenities. Nonetheless - excellent boats! I've been pulled by both back in the day and they do the one thing they were designed to do - pull skiers - really well! We trash talked each other all winter as to who would have braggin rights... We must have raced each other at least a half dozen times, the results IMHO... To close to call but damn was it fun.... I'm just happy my old 56 Merc ran flawless all day long having spent the day mostly WFO. Is the best option to take it somewhere to have the entire exterior painted? Im not sure if its possible to simply get decals to put on? Thanks in advance for any advice. c-series don 8,666 #12 Posted July 5, 2020 I believe that originally they were call Ski Nautiques and had big script lettering on the side. I remember as a kid a friend of mine had one and that thing would haul ass and turn on a dime. It had three scegs in the center of the hull to enable it to turn like that. clueless 2,976 #13 Posted July 5, 2020 (edited) Skied behind both the Nautique and the Tique many times, the Tique was a little shorter. Both were the best boat to teach people how to ski, not a lot of dragging you in the water before you got up. They would pull my 280lb ass up in a couple of seconds . You could turn the wheel hard to port or starboard back off the throttle and do a 180 and be almost heading back in your wake trail, (please do not try this at home) .
