moe1965 746 #1 Posted July 10, 2016 I have a raider 10 I'm not sure on the correct oil level for the trans. I filled it until it came out of the check plug on the side but it shows no sign on the dip stick. Is that just a drain plug and not a level indicator? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks in advance. Jk
rmaynard 15,643 #2 Posted July 10, 2016 (edited) You cannot use the plug on the side for filling or checking. If you do, you will be about 8 to 10oz. low. If you have a dip stick, fill with gear oil until the level is correct on the stick. Otherwise, the proper amount to add to a totally empty transmission is 2 qts.. I fill through the shifter hole with the shifter removed. You can fill through the dip stick tube if the oil is warm and you have all day. moe1965 746 #3 Posted July 10, 2016 Thanks. I'll fill through dipstick tube. I'm in the middle of painting a snow blower attachment and have time between coats of paint. kinda strange working on a snow blower when it's 85 out.
