36" tiller

Recommended Posts

Well after searching and searching finally I found one on Craigslist. This is off a 67/68 C120 I think it was. My question is if it will work on my 518? And will the axle bracket work for my plow? I do have the newer mid mount pulley. Only difference I see is this one has the pulley mounted to the axle bracket rather than mounted on the tiller mount. It's in perfect condition with no dents and the tines are mint. Hoping to tear it down this week and freshen up the paint. I traded him an old tv for it so I'm thinking I got a great deal. Any and all input is appreciated.

Only thing I didn't get was the lift cable and was wondering a length on it to make my own.

Perhaps this is the one you have?

The tiller in your pics is type 'A' and your tractor needs tiller type B in these 2 pics.....and a different axle bracket too.  You MAY be able to change out the hitch on the front of the tiller...

I guess my question then is anyone have some measurements on the mounting bracket so I can modify? Probably not in the budget to locate the right one unless someone on here is looking to do a trade.

Can anyone on here with a tiller measure their bracket on the tiller the length from the center of the rod going across to the back where it bolts on the tiller? This way if I have to make a new bracket I know the length. Has to be the newer tiller for the 3,4, and 500 series. Thank you.

So I got it mounted up today. Everything bolted up very well. The only issue is if I raise it so the tines are about 5-6" of the ground the belt rubs on the shaft that goes across for the hitch mount. May have to get creative or just deal with it. Any ideas?

You may find that if it will lift 5" - 6" off the ground it may not till deep enough. So when you change one you change the other which I think is normal for all makes and models with 23" rear tires. You need an easy way to change the lift so you can go from working to transport mode.

Can anyone please measure the distance across the bar on the front of their tiller for me. The part that goes into the axle bracket. Thank you.

With a little bit of elbow grease this is what I ended up with! Not to bad if I do say so myself!
