c100 or c200

Recommended Posts

jec34817

Hi,  brand new on here.  I have a question for everyone.  I'm close to restoring either a wheelhorse c100 or a c200 tractor.  They were both my Father in Laws who has passed away and Id like to do it in his honor.  My question is which one would I have the easiest time finding parts for.  both have been stored in an out building for quite a few years.  Frame and body on both are in fairly good shape.  Not sure about the engine or tranny on either one.  Honestly, Im leaning towards the c100 since it is the one that has the most memories for my wife.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks in advance

Welcome to Red Square  :)  Are you sure it is not a D-200??  I am going to go with the C-100...but you know it is impossible to answer your question without pictures.  :wwp:  Also, it would be most helpful if you could post the "Model #".  A C-100 would be model #1-0391 and be year 1975.  :)

Paul, again we think alike.  :)

I would vote for the C-100 over the (D) 200......

Oh, and :WRS: ... photos are mandatory!

I agree with the others, it's probably a C-100, but it may be a D-200. As mentioned, Wheel Horse did not make a C-200.

Is there a difference in the physical size of the tractors? If the complete 200  tractor is distinctly larger in size than the 100 tractor, then the 200 is probably a D200 not a C200. Both are very cool and very different. Send us some pics!

OK OK LIke I said Im a newbee here!  But I can take it.  haha  Im sorry, its not a C200.  Its a C120.  My wife is pretty attached to the C100 though.  I took a bunch of pics of the C100.  Tell me what you all think.  Is it restoreable?  The say it ran when the Father in Law put it in the shed.  Its been in there for 5 years or so.  Hope the pics load.   Its the condition of the rear wheels that really concern me.  Sorry it took so long to get back to you alltractors and birds 049.JPGtractors and birds 048.JPGtractors and birds 047.JPGtractors and birds 046.JPGtractors and birds 045.JPGtractors and birds 043.JPGtractors and birds 042.JPGtractors and birds 050.JPGtractors and birds 051.JPGtractors and birds 038.JPGtractors and birds 040.JPGtractors and birds 055.JPG

Yeah thats what scares me.  I seem to remember him saying that he had something put in the tires for added weight.  I think that might be what it is thats seeping out

Wheels are easy to find, and not that expensive. I wouldn`t use those tires either. Also, remove them outside. Calcium eats concrete! Otherwise, tractor looks pretty good. Nice find and keep us updated..

You may be to pick parts off the 120 to use on the 100. Bring them both home!

That tractor is certainly worth saving IMO.  It appears to be complete.  Looks like you'll need a set of rear tires and wheels, but that is an easy fix.  They appear to be filled with calcium for weight, which is very corrosive too.

:WRS:

And have fun with your project.
