Rare End cracked

Recommended Posts

geminiguy

I have C-160,  1-0481.  Something inside must have jammed in the bottom of the rear end assy and cracked the housing.  Anyone know if this is 'common' and maybe caused by a loose nut ?  Which type of rear end would do this ?   Thanks, CKain

AMC RULES

Once you crack it open, and remove the offending object...

you may be able to find a replacement trans case to get you up and running again.

Your C-160 auto has a cast iron gear case (transmission) and can't be repaired if cracked / broken.  I have BOTH sides of this available when you decide which is broken / cracked.  Here is a pic or two of the Letf and Right sides...  I probably can replace any broken internal parts too....gears, bearings, etc.

for more info, send me a direct email to this address:

Sorry to jump in but does any one have a proper carb jet for a 16hp 1974 c-160. Had to make temporary one so carb doesn't spew gas but  would like to have an original

This is an Automatic? I have a Unidrive, gear drive, that I have the case to.. you're welcome to it for nothing. Of course, I'm in CT...
