T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,513 #1 Posted June 12, 2016 This is posted on the local CL. Seller says it's a 1967, but I think it's a 1964 1054 or '65 1054A. Price is too much for my budget right now at $1500, and personally I think it's over priced. But that body style of the 953 and 1054 intrigues me somewhat.
Rob.A.700 306 #2 Posted June 12, 2016 They are a great tractor. The mower deck looks good and it has wheel weights witch is nice as for the price I have to agree that 1500 is alittle steep...
953 nut 56,158 #3 Posted June 12, 2016 It is a 953, the ivory choke/throttle knobs are the giveaway. Presuming it runs well I would say that $750 would be a maximum reasonable price. It has a grill, is reasonably complete and the wheel weights, while not correct for a would be a nice thing to have. The steering wheel is not correct and the mower belt guard is missing plus the obvious bent up rear fenders. Seems like some people see the outrageous asking prices on and don't take into consideration the fact that it has been listed for a year with no takers. Personally, I would walk away at anything over $500.
Racinbob 11,299 #4 Posted June 12, 2016 I was gonna say a 953 or 1054 but Richards user name certainly trumps my knowledge on these models.
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,513 #5 Posted June 13, 2016 I was thinking it was overpriced. So, 953 it is then.
elliot ness 1,916 #6 Posted June 13, 2016 953 is correct.. and I have been looking at that one for about 6 mo. My opinion only, it's a 400.00 to 600.00 W/H. But I do like the style.
