oliver2-44 9,922 #3 Posted June 3, 2016 Plastic storage bags of various sizes are a great way to keep small parts together and you can put bolts, nuts and hardware in groups such as "seat pan", hood hinge, etc. I put a piece of paper inside each bag with a label or note what it contains The felt tip permanent markers also work, but gas and oil residue cab blur it. Have Fun!
953 nut 56,150 #4 Posted June 4, 2016 Photos as you remove the parts and the contents of each container of parts and notations on the photos saved to a removable storage device like a flash drive.
TIGman 2,006 #5 Posted June 4, 2016 Lot's of great advice I can tell you guys have done this before. I guess I kinda look at it like taking a big mold apart at work and then have to put it back together 4-5 weeks later.
953 nut 56,150 #6 Posted June 4, 2016 The thing that will consume an enormous amount of time is finding that you have three 1 1/2" long bolts and two 1 1/4" and having to figure out what two holes the shorter ones go in, a note on the photo saves a lot of frustration later. Or the fact that two bolts need to have the nut at the top and the others need it at the bottom.
oliver2-44 9,922 #7 Posted June 4, 2016 Your being a tool and die maker and a tig welder should make these restorations right up your alley. i wish you lived near me! The biggest challenge is at work you put it back together in a few weeks. At home life and family can easily turn that planned 3 month restoration into a 2 year restoration!

stevasaurus 22,910 #9 Posted June 4, 2016 Very nice looking short frame. The smaller tires go on the front with the valve stems pointed in.
RedRanger 1,468 #10 Posted June 5, 2016 Those headlights are interesting. Are you keeping them? They look kinda cool.
TIGman 2,006 #11 Posted June 5, 2016 RedRanger that would be a YES on the headlights. . The general consensus is that they make the 875 look mean.
