russellmc301 600 #79 Posted July 28, 2016 well i cleaned my gun today and then primed the hood and seat plus some other things. then ran out of primer and last night i had ordered more. it's amazing all the in perfections you see when you prime the hood. going to weld some more tomarrow.

russellmc301 600 #82 Posted July 28, 2016 the thing if i got it it would get parted out since i have no use for any of the parts besides duals. but you never know the bug like to get fed
russellmc301 600 #83 Posted August 11, 2016 well everything is either primed or ready to be primed tommorow then to paint. what is the best paint stripper for the wheels, it just takes to long to wire wheel it clean. how do i get the valve core out since the saltinside has like stuck it in there? Lane Huls 146 #84 Posted August 12, 2016 Just rip the stem off. You're going to want to make sure the inside of the rim is in good shape, and chances are the tires aren't good anyway.
russellmc301 600 #85 Posted August 12, 2016 have some dry rot but look good over all. where and what type of tires would be the replacements?
russellmc301 600 #86 Posted August 12, 2016 well i got the tire off and there was a tube inside. the rim looks greatnow i need to get a new tube. how does the tire look?
Lane Huls 146 #87 Posted August 12, 2016 Tire looks good to me!
WHX?? 49,484 #88 Posted August 12, 2016 Tire looks good as far as I can see scrub them down real good with blech white or armor all tire cleaner and see how they look. If that don't do it some tire paint. 6-12 tubes are common on or TSC .....if you can find the heavier duty ones are better and make sure you use the little valve stem protector thingys.
russellmc301 600 #89 Posted August 12, 2016 ok thanks this tire was easy to get off and i hope the next one is just as easy.
russellmc301 600 #90 Posted August 13, 2016 pew the second tire was married to the rim we ended up geting 2 pipe clamps and 2 boards on each side and sweezing it and it broke the bead. then of course we somehow go the rim jamped in there and we cut the tube out and my dad came over and help us. the calsium coride is nasty so we loaded them up on the cart and washed them off . now to clean the tires with armourall or bleach. russellmc301 600 #92 Posted August 14, 2016 thanks ill look it up i used armourall and it made them look great
Achto 27,908 #93 Posted August 14, 2016 if your thinking about the tire paint. Check the Armourall, if it has silicone in it you will not be able to use the tire paint for a while. Or you will have to wash the tires down with a solvent to get rid of the silicone.
russellmc301 600 #94 Posted August 15, 2016 as of now the tires look like fresh rubber and i'll keep at them with armourall and i hope it will make them look nice. for the tip

953 nut 56,157 #98 Posted September 25, 2016 Read over the "RJ -58 Project" thread that @Johndeereelfman has going, he has a lot of good information in there and is doing it right. 1 hour ago, russellmc301 said: can i sand it and then polish it
Abe01 61 #99 Posted September 25, 2016 ....make sure to read it to the end to hopefully not repeat his mistake !(I was heartbroken for him lol) your both doing a fantastic job. I will add that if you color coat and clear coat aren't the same brand I would make a test piece to be sure they are compatible.
