Sparky-(Admin) 21,612 #1 Posted December 19, 2008 I know some of you guys in the warmer states have no interest in dealing with snow. But in the winter it gives us "northerners" some seat time. Well the weather guy is telling us to expect 8"-14" of the white stuff starting Friday around noon and ending sometime early Saturday morning. I'm hoping to get the D-160 out for some snow clearing work and see what that 56" blade can do. I also have a "new to me" 42" single stage, tall chute, snow-chucker (thanks Buzz) that I'm itchin to try out. Hopefully I can get someone to snap a few action shots . Mike......... Brrly1 1,146 #2 Posted December 19, 2008 Sparky I finally got some seat time the other night. We got around 5" here in Toledo and are expecting anywhere from 7" to 8" between tonight and tomorrow afternoon. So I have the 520h and the 518 setup and ready to go as the grandson might come over and we'll go for a cruise clearing sidewalks. I did a couple blocks the other night and had a great time. He said he wants to take a shovel along and clear walks up to the house to see if he can make a few dollars. Good luck Burly

Teddy da Bear 11 #12 Posted December 19, 2008 Same here in Niles Stephen. We were suppose to get 5 to 10......looks more like 2 to 3 of ice crystals so far. I want an apology from our weather man!
Sarge 3,464 #13 Posted December 19, 2008 This was one strange storm here . Got roughly 3" , although 1/2" of that is ice. Started out with nearly 1" of sleet , then the ice , then snow on top of that . If you can get the plow blade under it the stuff just pops off , otherwise a no-go for plowing without a lot of salt . Pics soon - Sarge
canam1991 2 #14 Posted December 19, 2008 I want an apology from our weather man! What is a job you can lie and get away with it???? p.s A WEATHER MAN :hide:

Teddy da Bear 11 #16 Posted December 19, 2008 It's not that the weatherman is lying exactly... He is just not telling us the truth about the fact that it is not possible to predict weather with any degree of certainty. One of those pretend professions I guess. Guest fireman #17 Posted December 20, 2008 Well here are some action pictures from this afternoon. This was about 5 or 6 inches with another 8 to 10 to come :horseplay: :horseplay: !
Sparky-(Admin) 21,612 #18 Posted December 20, 2008 Well I got out to late for good pics and with a cheap camera and the snow reflecting back I ended up with crappy pics. Heres the 416-H with a 42" tall chute blower. I have owned a few of the short chute blowers and this one definately blows the snow higher and farther. Again sorry about the lousy pics. I actually had about 15 pics to choose from and these were the best . Mike..........

Sarge 3,464 #20 Posted December 20, 2008 Did I mention I hate ice ?? The craziest part- the tire chains would break it up, then I could actually blade it off . Maybe time to add that super heavy cutting edge ? Sarge
