prondzy 3,883 #1 Posted May 14, 2016 I was wondering if anyone has found a cheaper alternative to the spindle thrust bearings and washers found in the swept axles. Part numbers 9865 and 9548 I know they can be bought from toro but that's a $65 bill for 4 washers and 2 bearings.
cleat 7,030 #2 Posted May 14, 2016 I believe they are the same as any trailer hubs with 1" spindles.
MalMac 1,332 #3 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Are you talking about the flat washers and thrust bearings on the bottom of the Axel where the spindle/king pin goes through the Axel? If so there is a web site called Classic Kitchens and more. Scroll down menu on left till you make through all the kitchen stuff till you see Wheel Horse. He's got the thrust washers and bearings. Eric Friedrichsen 112 #6 Posted May 14, 2016 I purchased from McMaster-Carr thrust needle roller bearings for the 1" king pin for the following price: 1" bearing--------------------------$3.17ea 1" thrust washer (.032)-----------$1.15ea I mic'd the WH thrust bearing as .064" so I used 4 thrust washers per spindle. Total price for the two spindles was: $15.54 + very reasonable shipping. Eric
Tankman 3,520 #7 Posted May 14, 2016 Been using QBC for years, fast and fairly priced. http://qbcbearings.com/BuyRFQ/ThrustB_Bearing_TPS_I.htm# My one and only Onan has the Wheel Horse logo, center of the air screen. Classic Kitchens, excellent! http://classickitchensandmore.com/wheel-horse-tractors-parts-c-42/wheel-horse-lawn-tractor-onan-engine-horse-head-logo-plate-new-p-4090.html

I used the old thrust washers on top of the spindles to take up space and hopefully reduce the amount of dirt getting down into the axle.
