popcat 10 #2 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Did someone really want a Ford or is that a Ford and you did your magic on it? Nice work, how did you paint it and what's the name of the color? Edited May 14, 2016 by popcat

econo 32 #11 Posted May 14, 2016 So I was going to use IH Red from Tractor Supply but heard bad things about it. Ended up using Rustoleum Regal Red because the color was so close anyway. Reduced it down, added hardener and shot it with my gun. Used Rustoleum Antique white for the wheels. Was not sure on the decals so will need to order the right ones. I cut a couple lawns in my neighborhood and get a lot of thumbs up while going down the street. Hah!

Racinbob 11,298 #19 Posted May 20, 2016 I don't have first hand experience with it but I've heard several complaints about the Majic brand at TSC.
19richie66 17,530 #20 Posted May 20, 2016 Takes forever to dry if I remember correctly.
econo 32 #21 Posted May 20, 2016 What I had heard about the Tractor Supply paint was that it was good but was subject to early fading. A few people stated that but I didn't try it
312Hydro 474 #22 Posted May 23, 2016 Very nice work. You turned a tired old "Ford" into a great looking WheelHorse!
WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #23 Posted May 23, 2016 I have used the TSC Majic spray bombs in IH red ,my only complaint so far is that it needs to cure longer than rustoleum or krylon before recoating or using the painted parts, seems to hold up on my snow blowers good, under mower decks so so, but I don't see much paint holding up to that environment, and it's NOT an "enamel" it's "aklyd" which supposedly holds up better than enamels,Jeff. WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #25 Posted May 24, 2016 So I was thinking about my reply and the paint types, I did a little research and to my surprise aklyd is actually an enamel "synthetic" as they call it and it doesn't have the UV inhibitors as urethane enamel that's why it fades without a clear coat or other such additives in the paint, but my snow blowers don't set out so therefore no fading as of yet and of the Sun isn't as strong during the winter unlike summer mowing,Jeff.
