Had a little accident

Huge sigh of relief here.  Thanks John and Richard.

The flywheel always went on easily by hand in the past but now I was really worried that

I had irreparably damaged the engine.  Hopefully less embarrassing video to follow shortly.

Keep it up with comedy videos! How about a sequel when you go around that bush the other way or a bigger one? :ychain:

I know everyone is busting your balls but it's all in good fun! It's just so rare to actually get that kind of stuff on video so I'm glad you're comfortable enough to post it and THANK YOU for posting it too!

You, sir, have epic timing.  The right words at just the right moment. Thanks.

Literally have just sat down at my computer after relaying my tale of woe to a client.

Have to admit feeling a bit of regret for posting it, but you've put it all in perspective.

It is a funny moment... and we all need to be able to laugh at ourselves when life throws us a curve while we're looking for the fastball.

Trust me, we have all been there at one time or even more!

Like the time at the big show when I sipped on a bottle of water which had gas in it. Stupid embarrassing moment since I put the gas in the water bottle but certainly funny to the other people who were watching!  I'm just glad it wasn't caught on video! :teasing-poke:

We should start a thread of "Embarrassing Moments" and bet it would fill up quick with replies.

Don't worry about it, "time heals all wounds." and it's now part of your "15 minutes of fame"

I'm on a quote roll!

Somehow I knew you would be here to comment on that!

You better behave or I'll link up that cartoon again for waiting for the bus! :teasing-poke:

So the rj is up and running again.

Thanks to all for the help.

Drained the gear oil last night and found a thread about how much oil to put in.

I'm assuming the  "drain plug" and the "level plug" are the same thing.

In other words.. fill until gear oil starts leaking out of the drain/ level plug and that's good.

Correct?

well, the drain would be on the bottom, so hopefully that plug is in. :ychain: but the side fill/level plug I bet you understand are the same.

At the risk of being to literal and thick... there is no plug on the side

I've got one one the top and one on the bottom.

So I fill it until oil comes out of ...

WOW!

Them early WH's were not - shall we say - OSHA Compliant...

Makes me think of the bumper sticker I got once at a work safety seminar:

"If you think OSHA is a small town in Wisconsin, your in trouble..."

I would check all the wire connections. From the sounds of it maybe a branch got in there and separated a connection, since you didn't "do" anything to stall it...just a thought...Good Luck!

:twocents-02cents:

UGH i had to do OSHA for school a few months back it was horrible!

Price reduced to $1,350. Please IM BillKC if you are interested or have questions.

I have an RJ-35 and two RJ-58s for sale that need to go to a good home. Also included is a snowplow, three K91s, and two spare rear wheels w/tires mounted. I mounted a newer engine on the RJ-58 just to push snow and do some light mowing for fun. The RJ-35 runs great and fun to drive around and experience the beginning history of the Wheel Horse lineup. Someone before me started restoring one of them so it is a project. Paint is great but needs put back together. I also have a copy of Straight from the Horse’s Mouth (2000 copyright) that goes with these tractors.

I don't have any way to transport these so Local pickup in Smithville, MO.

Do not want to separate the lot. You can buy them all and sell what you don't want to other collectors.

      Thanks,

      Bill

Here is my early production RJ35. Made probably in the 2nd batch of 1955 tractors, not in the first 100 produced. Has the cast iron steering wheel, gas tank stand and some other early production parts. I added the non original Kohler engine but it should be a Clinton engine.

Well, most of the regulars here are aware I will be relocating this Spring/Summer. I had hoped to take the remaining collection of tractors with me. However more and more it is becoming obvious that this plan wont work out for numerous reasons. As such, once I make up my mind as to which one to keep, I will be posting the remainder as well as most parts etc up for sale in the Forum Classifieds and CL.

As I hope shows in poll info, I have 2 Stage Blower, Restored 48 & 60 inch(195) decks, 54 inch blade, GT14 style Tiller and a project Sickle Bar. The Sickle BAr can likely be made to work on the GT14 style tractors and the C160.

I enjoy working on them but as I get older I may not have time or ability to do so. As such, maintenance and parts and ease of use of a single tractor are part of the equation.

A couple of these I have poured a lot of time into but I am not emotionally tied to them and I believe if I relocate back east where Grass and tractor need becomes more necessary, I can re-create them.

So help me out with my decision.

Picked this up today and I'm very happy with it!! Early 1956 RJ35 with cast iron steering wheel. Down the road I will be tiring this into a 1955 RJ! Thanks Shawn!! What does everyone think? Definitely a project but definitely a restoreable one!
