Adamsminitractor 9 #1 Posted April 17, 2016 Hi ya guys and gals. I just bought this rustic looking c101. I am sure it will be running again soon. Thing is do i restore it or give it the "oily rag" treatment. Very solid, no holes or dents.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,612 #2 Posted April 17, 2016 I suppose that depends on what your plans are for it.....putt-putting around at shows or handling all your yard chores. I would go thru it mechanically first and make sure it's a sound machine before making a desicion. What happened to the shifter?? Someone gnaw on it? Mike.....
stevasaurus 22,956 #3 Posted April 17, 2016 I, just my opinion, think that is to new of a horse to worry about patina. The round hoods and maybe the short frames are old enough to think about..."they are only original once". I would go for it and stop the rust...make it look like new. Like Mike said...it does not have to be perfect to look and run great. Stopping the rust will ensure another 50 years. I've got an 876 that I think would look better new then the way it does now. oldredrider 2,553 #4 Posted April 17, 2016 IMO "refurbish" mechanically and cosmetically. That way it would be a good worker and easy on the eyes.
Adamsminitractor 9 #5 Posted April 17, 2016 Cheers for your input guys. I have a fully restored C125 that i show. This one i do want to work it tho with grass cutting, pulling caravan out of field, towing trailer with fire wood etc.. So i was reluctent to fully restore it because if i did i would not want to use it for work. They do look nice restored tho. PS here is my c125 i restored 3 years ago.
