Tire size on stock wheels

Recommended Posts

cschannuth

What is the widest tire I can mount on a stock rear C-161 wheel?  Currently has 23-8.50's.  Could it handle a 23-10.50?  I have plenty of clearance.  I'm just worried about the wider tire looking goofy or not mounting up on the stock wheel.  I want a little more width in an Ag style tire.  Thanks.

every tire is different, some will bulge in the middle with that wide of tire, some guys do it,some say they don't fit all that well especially if you run chains on them, but it really depends on the tire, maybe some of the guys who have put wider tires on will post some pics,i personally like the look of a 8.5,but that's me

Go with the 8.50 You can see on  c125 what they look like.

Not all brands are the same. I have deestone 10.50 ags on my C-160 and they fit great. They are barely wider than the stock 8.50 Carlisle turfs. Carlisle tires are closer to real size. Deestones are quite a bit small. I think you may be disappointed with the deestone 8.50s.

tbarnhart,

I have been thinking about Deestones 10.50" on 8.5" rims but from your pictures of the Deestones  on 7.5" rims I'll put them on the 7.5"They look like they fit that rim size well. Thanks,JAinVA

I have the stock Carlisle 8.50's.  They look a little skinny on the wheel to me.  They still work so I'll keep them for now.  I was just wondering about my options.  Thanks for all the replies.IMG_3116.JPGIMG_3117.JPG

Inexpensive - Carlisle X Trac ATV Bias Tire - 16x6.50-8 Good quality (I expect) Should look nice with my large rear aggies
I don't know how much these have been discounted, but I expect anything you find like this from a good brand will be 2X to 3X the price. $45 each at Amazon. This tire is discontinued.

Rough measurement seems they are about 16" tall and the lugs are about 1/2" deep.

Are there aftermarket front rims available for C Series tractors? I have a 120 and a 160 that need front rims… thx.

I’m trying to restore my grandfathers old 252-H to use around my property. The tires are shot and the rims aren’t too far behind. Anyone have any recommendations for rims and tires that would fit well on it?

      right now it has 22 x 7.50 - 12 on the back and 15 x 6 - 6 on the front.

I have a 1990 wheel horse classic model # 31-12KE01 and need to replace all 4 tires. The sizes are 15x6 8 NHS on front and 23x9.5 12 NHS Rear. I'm wondering if anyone has any specific tire they have purchased and found to be reliable? I have an acre yard with a few hills but nothing severe. I've looked at Carlisle, Marastar to name a few. Also do most folks keep the same rims and take them all in at one time to a local tire garage to have them mounted or just buy new ones with rims? Is having the correct size shown above all I need in order to make sure its an exact fit for my tractor?
