daveoman1966 3,766 #1 Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) I have a NOS engine V belt pulley with the Briggs / Stratton logo embossed on it, but not sure what model tractor it is for. I can only read two numbers on it... '077' in one place and '3' sideways next to that. The cast pulley is 4.0" dia and it has a 1.0" bore with keyway slot to fit a crankshaft WITH a woodruff key. It does NOT have a lockdown set screw. This is for a 'B' size belt (5/8). Again.... any HELP out there..... daveoman1966 3,766 #3 Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) Thanx for tryin', but this Briggs pulley doesn't match to any of your suggestions. It may, in fact, not even be for a Wheelhorse....not sure at all. I state that because this Briggs pulley does NOT have a SET SCREW to lock down onto the woodruff key. It also does NOT have a 4-bolt pattern face to attach a PTO clutch disc as do all of the other Wheelhorse engine pulleys that I've ever seen. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,169 #4 Posted April 11, 2016 I posted those more to see where that size of pulley was used. In the back of my mind I'm thinking possibly B&S supplied an engine with a drive pulley but have never noticed if they did. The earliest use I see for B&S is the 1971 800 Special model 1-0150 which uses a 100975 pulley that I missed but I don't know the OD of that one. Garry Sorry this is so old but can you direct me to the size of the input pulley on my 78C – 161? I also would like to know what size belt it should have. I’m currently running a 5/8 x 84” which seems a little too long. It has the twin Briggs on it. And the pulley down by the transmission looks to be about 6 1/2 inches diameter with about a half inch diameter hub. I’m wondering what pulley that is or at least the actual specs on it. Thanks. And if you don’t wanna waste your time on this or can’t find anything that is no problem at all I totally understand. I did some searching on here and it doesn’t look like my pulleys match up with what’s listed. Edited January 23, 2019 by cschannuth
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,169 #6 Posted January 24, 2019 1978 C-161 Twin with what transmission? Hydro or gear. When you go to the parts list there are 6 engine pulleys because the transmission determines the diameter and the engine the shaft size - 1" or 1-1/8". B&S are 1". There are 3 transmission pulleys listed - 2 for hydro trans and 1 for gear trans. Garry
cschannuth 3,817 #7 Posted January 24, 2019 Sorry. It’s the 8 speed. I’m really trying to pin down the belt length and width. Thank you so much for helping me.
