scotty 252 #1 Posted April 2, 2016 Im looking at what im told was a speedex s17 says it runs but it revs out. he said its got a gearbox with forward and reverse and you control speed with throttle. any info on these? are parts easily avaliable for these and would predator motor fit on one? thanks. dells68 7,498 #2 Posted April 2, 2016 Not that familiar with speedex, but I'm sure you could adapt a predator engine. They are pretty nice engines, especially for the money. If I'm not mistaken, I think you engage the drive on a speedex by shifting the motor forward. Might present some challenges. I may be wrong though, maybe someone will chime in who knows more. squonk 41,155 #3 Posted April 3, 2016 I work with a guy who found a Speedex at a yard sale with no motor. Looked like it hadn't been used for 20 yrs. Has the slide the motor style of engagement. Then he found a snowblower with an 8HP Briggs and bolted it up and found a plow from something else. Now he can plow his driveway with it.
