pfrederi 17,653 #5 Posted April 1, 2016 Not all flags have the tab that the Eye Bolt is in. May have to get another flag or do some welding...

Irv 115 #8 Posted April 1, 2016 It also helps to move the pin to the upper (i think) hole to attach the flag to the lift mechanism
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,031 #9 Posted April 2, 2016 This parts list of a later manual lift illustrates what each of the holes in the lift arms are used for https://www.partstree.com/parts/toro/mowers-lawn-garden-tractor/21-12k801-312-8-toro-312-8-garden-tractor-1985/manual-lift-linkage/ Garry
wallfish 16,980 #10 Posted April 2, 2016 I'm with Irv and Gary. They are heavy but you shouldn't have a VERY hard time lifting it unless the flag is mounted in the lower hole. Once you get that straight you can determine if you want or need to add the lift assist spring.
