cowboy2420 0 #1 Posted December 11, 2008 Hi Folks, I have a K141T from 1963 that I am rebuilding, after I got the rings in and built up the engine further to start, I was installing the ignition. I found that the old coil is kaput ...After that being said, does anyone have an idea of replacement I should use ? I tried a 231718S, and of course it doesn't quit fit, and the flywheel drags on the outer shell. I can post pics of the old one, which I had to dismantle to get the laminates out. Thanks in advance ! :hide:
oldandred 15 #2 Posted December 11, 2008 Cowboy are you saying that the coil is under the fly wheel ? If so I dont think thats a wheel horse engine at least not the way it came from the factory and you say k41k on a 63 hummmmmm that may be wrong also its a 63 what ? and by all means post some pictures
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #3 Posted December 11, 2008 A 633 WH would have that set-up, Jerry. (K141T with a magneto) I'm trying to find the right P/N for the old small flywheel K's.

taycotrains 52 #6 Posted December 11, 2008 CALL 262-877-9175 Ask for Mr Wright...tell him you need part #230075 It will be 55.00 plus 6.00 shipping Total 61.00 The reason I know this is because the coil did the same thing on my 633 and I bought one from him last September and I happen to have the invoice in front of me with the info. He is in Twin Lakes Wisconsin and is a retired Kohler parts specialist with a lot of old stock. Try to call him before 5 PM during the day Hope this helps.... oldandred 15 #7 Posted December 12, 2008 Yep I forgot abot that one i even had a coil about two weeks ago and gave it to a good friend to get his horse going now if i had to deal with it I would change it over to the points and coil out side if theres a hole for the pin that works the points. cowboy2420 0 #9 Posted December 31, 2008 :D I got the new coil in from Mr. Wright, he's a nice guy. Hooked everything back up, and she ran for about 5 minutes or so, it shut down, and will only fire and run for about 5-10 seconds, I think I have a carb problem ( I used to see vapor out the exhaust, but don't now ) I think I'll replace the plug wire after a carb clean again, anyhoo, Thank You again for all of your help ! :hide:
