Nice trailer Matt.  SnowCo trailers are kind of hard to come by. Seems most people who have them nowadays are collectors who don't want to let them go. Definitely different duty grades of trailer too depending on whether it's a snowmobile trailer or a garden tractor trailer.

This one lived here for several years. I never got around to restoring it and sold it to another collector back in 2014.  Built by SnowCo, but badged as Wheel Horse. This is the two place Snowmobile trailer (Wheel Horse model 9-0511 and SnowCo model 863)   To date this is still the only two place Wheel Horse snowmobile trailer that has been found that I know of, and I spent several years looking for it before dumb luck brought it my way. I used it for several years to haul a tractor or two to some local shows.

AMC RULES

Did they all come from the factory with the air dams on the front...

or, was that an optional add on/addition?   :scratchead:

The center pivot ones I'm told are super rare.

Those are cool little trailers.  I'm gonna have to start paying attention to trailers when I see them sitting around now!

I had no idea there was such a following of Snowco trailers.  My grandfather, Ed Elstun started out as an accountant at Snowco, and became the owner until he closed the doors sometime in the late '80's and sold off the product line.  Farmers hadn't been buying things for a several years and the implement side of the business was dead weight and the "lets sue for anything" faze began...actually had to settle a lawsuit with someone who drilled into a power line with a snowco auger and got electrocuted.  He unfortunately passed away this January.  I don't think he knew there were any of his old trailers still out there, let alone sought after...probably wouldn't have tossed out all those old manuals lol!  Would love to see any other pictures anyone has!

Sorry for your loss. Wish you'd come around sooner! Would have been amazing to get some insight from the former company owner. Lots of SnowCo trailers running around out there... they made boat trailers too.  There was also a trailer like my snowmobile trailer that was for the Allis Chalmers Terra Tiger. It's a pretty rare bird too.  Thanks for popping in and speaking up!

When Wheel Horse made snowmobiles (late 69-72) The got into the business by purchasing an existing manufacturer. That production was in Des Moines. So, when they added the SnowCo (Snow Corporation) Trailer, they had them badged as if they came from the snowmobile factory in Des Moines.

Hi all, as mentioned in another topic I visited the local harvest-show in Onstwedde again. I brought my mini International 1468 with me and got set up at around 9 in the morning. Gates opened at 10.
It was a bit overcast and wet at the beginning but it turned out to be a nice and sunny day for the most part.
@Pullstart requested some show pictures so here ya' go

All set up, waiting for the folks to come in and say Hi.

This 1/3rd scale stationary thresher is built by my dads grandpa (who has passed away) and is now owned by my dad's uncle.
He tours the country with it and displays it on several shows. It actually works and my dad's grandpa used it to harvest beans.
The steam tractor that powers it is not my dad's uncle's but happened to be there aswell so they thought let's see if the tractor can power the thresher. Worked flawlessly.

Besides the small tresher there's always a real one setup aswell. They thresh grain and bale the straw with the attached baler.
Powered by a flat belt off a vintage Hanomag tractor.

Threshing machine, Dutch built out of the province of Groningen.

Straw baler. The bales are manually tied and knotten.

This apparatus was placed before the thresher. Not 100 percent sure what it does but it seemed it gets rid of excess chaff and other unwanted debris.

Who can guess what these are and/or what they're used for?

Vintage DAF truck. Dutch truck brand. This one was very nicely restored.

And another one, this one obviously for military use. Note the second axle which is free rolling. This helped it conquer dunes and tranches in rough conditions. My granddad used to operate one of these.

Also no big center differential on the back axles but driveshafts coming directly from the main gearbox. The shock is the rear of the vehicle. I guess they went this route for maximum ground clearance and articulation.

I have a Wheel Horse model 7-2211 yard trailer for sale. This trailer Has been repainted by the previous owner. It is not a show piece but with that being a said it is a solid trailer that would be a good worker. This trailer would be great for someone that wants one that looks decent and isn’t afraid to use it like it should be used. My price is O.B.O. for it. Feel free to ask questions and I can send more pics of it through text or email. I prefer texting or email but will accept calls on it.
      Thanks-
      Tristen

Tomorrow is the first trip with equipment to the new house. One of the advantages of the brand trailer I have (Sure Trac) is that the gate can fold down onto the deck of the trailer. It will be loaded going down but empty returning, With the gate up it feels like I am still towing a parachute. The problem with having the gate down is that the trailer disappears behind my truck.

I had bought a pair of 36" snowplow marker guides for the 42" single stage snowthrower a few years ago. They were to help locate the ends when pulling into our side-load garage. But before mounting them I found a shorter pair that worked better. So the longer ones languished on the shelf until today. I had a last minute thought to mount them on the trailer. It should work great.
