WHX??

Looks to be a 501 Suburban and looking real good. How do you bend a flywheel like that?

NICE

Think 61/3 meant a 551 suburban. Also curious how the flywheel got bent

Apparently one of my nephews was going to rebuild engine in shop class and couldn't get the flywheel off, has pry bar marks all over it.

Thanks for the comments. Did the 501 also have the h55d motor? Curious, was under the impression it was a 551.

I think its original, My dad got it in about 1973 and its the same motor that was in it. As for the b-145, it was scrapped about 25 years ago. Always loved that electric mower.

Nice tractor. There was no 501. They had a 401 with a Kohler. :)

Yours is definitely a 551.

Probably is, an H55D is the correct engine for your tractor. Can't remember the exact spec# but thinking it's like 233? something. I'm sure someone will post it or I can find it if you want it.

Man, that little motor did A LOT of work if it turned over 3 acres every year, plus did the mowing too!

BOOOOOM, Shynon just hooked you up! That's what this place is all about!

yeah it's a H55D, went through it and the governor was laying in the bottom. Bought a h60 off a snowblower for the camshaft and governor. Just have to get a flywheel, figure out how to route the choke and throttle cables and where selenoid was bolted. Sucks when you tear something apart and don't get back to it for 3 years.

I have one for a pullstart. I think you could take the ring gear off and put it on this one

@JAGS :WRS:

Very nice looking Wheel Horse, and thanks for a little history of it.

The engine (original) was H55D-2113 according to my spreadsheet....but it was wrong once this week!

Pullstart

Wow what a great looking tractor, great work!  It looks to be in great condition for the amount of work it was given, unless you've done major surgery on the sheet metal in those 3 years...  Welcome to the forum, this is surely the place to be when it comes to :wh: on the web!  We just missed the snow by about an hour's worth of driving over here.
