Gene_S 93 #1 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) The time has come again for the Mentone Spring Swap. As you can see in the picture the date of the swap is April 30th and will start at sun up and end when the last person leaves. There will be a food vendor on site and porta pots for restroom needs. Also as normal to help cover cost of using the grounds, paying for porta pots and advertisement there will be a $5 selling fee. The address for the swap meet is 3571 S St Rd 19 Mentone IN 46539. Side note this address is north of Mentone. Hope to see you there! Edited March 13, 2016 by Gene_S

RedRanger 1,468 #4 Posted March 16, 2016 The weather is warming. I'm ready! So let's hear from those that are going! Who'll be there? I plan to attend for my second annual appearance. My only request is that all selling be held off until about 9am to give me travel time. I got there about 10 last year and a lot of good deals were already traded amongst sellers. Is that for sale? Nope, I just bought that from so and so. Is that for sale? Nope, going home with me. I did find and buy a lot of good items though.

Don_WH 25 #9 Posted April 1, 2016 How large of a show and swap meet is this? What I am asking is it worth a 3 1/2-4 hr drive ?

Small to medium size last year, but the weather was poor. I would not drive 4 hours for it, no. 2 hours? yes. Have you attended the Portland, IN show? Now that's worth a 4 hour drive any day.
stevasaurus 22,897 #11 Posted April 2, 2016 @Don_WH I drive about 3 + hours for this every year...one way. Last year was terrible cold and rainy weather. If the weather is forecast as good, it may be worth your while...especially if you are looking for something. It is more of a "for sale" then a show, and it is not just all Wheel Horse. If you are looking for certain things, type what you are looking for and maybe someone will say they have it. You can find almost anything in parts there, but it is probably worth it to ask. Portland is much larger for sure and is a must if you are close. This swap is full of Red Square members and is just a good time.
Molon_Labe 731 #12 Posted April 5, 2016 I plan on being there, just hope the weather is better than last spring's show. Heading down to the Martinsville, In. show on 4/16, need some parts for a couple of non WH projects and hope to find them there. Glad spring is finally here again and the tractor shows have resumed, gives me something to look forward to all winter!

RedRanger 1,468 #18 Posted April 20, 2016 Need a shifter and pivot ball for a 702. Mine has a sloppy pivot ball hole and flat spots on the shifter ball. Also interested in a front reel mower for the 702? Back rest for a square pan seat? Nice square pan seat with no cracks or dents?

ztnoo 2,298 #24 Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) Mentone lies about half way between Warsaw in Kosciusko Co. & Rochester in Fulton Co. in Northern Indiana, about 27 miles apart. NOAA forecast for Rochester - http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.0648... NOAA forecast for Warsaw - http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php... They essentially say about the same thing......40-80% rain after 2 pm Saturday. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Sounds like you better get your business done basically in the morning. Of course, this is Indiana in the spring and things can change within a few hours, if not a few minutes...... I won't be dressed like Lane (above) who is dressed for Master of Ceremony duties. I may be in Carhartt coveralls with a golf umbrella. Sounds like a complete, full range outdoor wardrobe might be a good thing to haul along for this meet. Edited April 28, 2016 by ztnoo
