You should be able to the big thing is that you will need the correct rockshaft piece for the rear seat pan on the C-120.      My   1979  C-121  has a rockshaft that is just like my 1993  314 on it.    The  pre-1978 tractors have to have a different part (rear rockshaft).  I believe there is a Service Bulletin on thsi matter .   I will se if I can find it and send to you!

The Type III   rear tiller rockshaft piece is what you need to use a tiller on a 1977 C-120 Wheel Horse.

The Type II is what I have on my  1979  C-121 and my 1993   314 Wheel Horse .

The other parts for the installation can be bought thru Toro still and you can look up   Clevis Type A Hitch    8-5515  to determine what you might need and prices.

Thanks so much for your information-filled reply!  I had the tiller on a 1077 last year but had a knowledgeable friend help install it.  I have to go out and look at it again and look through the ol' box o' parts to see what I have.

The pictures should prove very helpful when I get to installation.....

I don't have a rock shaft for my tiller,i put a small pulley that the cable turns down towards the tiller,i think you can kind of see it here in this pic,its not as good as a rock shaft but it works fine for me,heres a pic

"Requires Service Assembly 105162"  ?  was something I came across during my search for an OM for the 1986 36" Tiller.  Not sure what that is,...does it have to do with the length of the clevis?

What purpose does the rock shaft serve?  A preventive measure of some sort?  Or a stiffener?

I believe it is to get the pull affect from higher up,before I had the pulley it would wear the cable till it broke,

c-series don

I went through many cables when I had several gardens to rototill then I found out about the rockshaft after I stopped doing that. I think that it would be especially helpful with a manual lift. Not sure though.
