953 nut 56,191 #2 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) If you mean the little foot operated thingy. it is the clutch for a mower. The lever above it is your motion controller. Edited February 23, 2016 by 953 nut
gt4 196 #3 Posted February 23, 2016 It's that short little lever just in front of the rear right wheel. That's the clutch for the mower?

slammer302 2,155 #17 Posted February 23, 2016 That's a nice looking 875 and wow the seat looks great! I would keep the patina probably would paint the wheels if they don't clean up good.
KC9KAS 4,741 #18 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Nice looking 875. BTW, this is the 1st "automatic" Wheel Horse made (as well as the 1075). I have one that my wife claims as hers! Edited February 23, 2016 by KC9KAS spelling
Retired Wrencher 5,537 #19 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) The Seat and steering wheel is worth the price of admission. Take your time on the seat and you can bring it back. These are hard to find in white. It looks pretty good for a 65. Gary B... Edited February 23, 2016 by T1257 RETIRED WRENCHER.

Ed Kennell 39,246 #21 Posted February 23, 2016 I just noticed yours has the hood emblem...mine doesn't. Anyone know if that was a dealer option or added on ?

stevasaurus 22,914 #23 Posted February 23, 2016 Ed, my 876 has the holes for the hood emblem and I got one to fit mine. I think the parking brake is the pawl that seats when you pull up on that lever on the right side. With the tow valve closed, and that lever pulled up, the horse will not move without hurting it...or taking that chance. Am I right there??
Ed Kennell 39,246 #24 Posted February 23, 2016 I think you are correct Shynon Please correct me if I am wrong Dick, but believe that lever you circled just engages the belt idler pulley and does not lock the transaxle like the later Sundstrands.
Ed Kennell 39,246 #25 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Just read your post Steve and now I am not sure. My 875 is in my winter storage barn 5 mile from home so I can't check it today. But I was trusting my memory (probably not a good idea) that the lever in question did not activate a pawl in the tranny like the later Sundstrands. I do remember pushing the 875 when I bought it and I did have to open the tow valve ( which is a 9/16 or 1/2 " hex on the rear of the tranny) . Different than the later Sundstrands with the screwdriver slot at the left front or the petcock type on the top left. I will check this and look for any sign of hood emblem holes.
