ztnoo 2,298 #26 Posted February 22, 2016 Yeah, I had that sad experience too with the K321 originally in my GT 14. The rod decide to kick the bucket and go to Kohler Heaven, punching a large hole in the block in the midst of its detonation and demise. Replaced the mill with a brand new K341.....that was when you could still buy a new cast iron K series. Unfortunately, the day of new inventory K acquisitions is gone, as far as I know. Thought I was in the Twilight Zone for a while, or had a virus or something. Couldn't wipe it off! Finally push too hard... A teensy weensy spider between the outside and the LEDs! Now I get to disassemble my monitor!

The rod broke when it was at TDC and the crank continued to spin...Thought that was odd the spinning continuing! I've got a 12 HP that did the same thing. I've not got it torn down yet, but getting close. I'll bet the rod looks like yours! IMG_2780.MOV
Ed Kennell 38,021 #37 Posted February 23, 2016 Yep, when the piston doesn't move. there is a good possibility the connecting rod is no longer connected.
Kegler 68 #38 Posted February 23, 2016 Have had good results from BONDIC on plastic, haven't tried it on metal yet Knocked my drill/driver off the top of my step ladder and the battery went one direction, in a couple of pieces, and the drill unit went in another, with the handle in 3 pieces. glued it all back together and so far it seems to be holding. Didn't clamp, or squeese the parts too tight to allow some glut spaceSpent extra time setting it.
WNYPCRepair 1,914 #39 Posted February 23, 2016 I think you could drill a couple of holes in it, tap them and bolt that right back together. Well, maybe a few holes.
