WHGuy413 2,683 #158 Posted January 3, 2019 Here's the only vintage pic I have. That's my grandfather and yours truly. I would have to say about 1986 or 87. Unfortunately that old 1848 was scrapped by a family member before I got into them. I do have his bronco 14 that he souped up with a 18hp Briggs vtwin. He knew tons and tons about them and could fix anything. Wish he was still alive to work on them with. I never paid attention when I was younger and he was trying to teach me. 10

ztnoo 2,298 #168 Posted February 19, 2019 I sure wish the "Ride a Horse" ad was of better quality to be able to actually read the names of the dealers and where they were from. Those dealers, mostly from Indiana, participated in a one lap race of the track each year as part of the festivities of the month of May at Indy. I suspect a dealer from Marion, the county seat of Grant County, about 60 miles northeast of Indy is in this pic, but since the overall individual pic quality is of such low resolution and quality, it almost impossible to identify any dealer or their location. The Marion dealer was Bill Tool of Bill's Gasoline Engine and Repair Service, and he was a dealer selling Wheel Horse tractors from the 50's into the mid to late 70's. Bill's youngest daughter Linda Beal (a year younger than me) still has the business open, but no longer sells any new lines of equipment, but rather focuses on repairs and parts sales. She still has lots of old Wheel Horse parts on the shelf and is very knowledgeable overall about Wheel Horse tractors. Linda told me her dad participated in the Indy Wheel Horse tractor race several times.

Lane Ranger 10,968 #172 Posted March 20, 2019 This is a photo from the centennial celebration parade of LaPaz, Indiana (located in Marshall County and probably printed in the Plymouth Pilot newspaper ) in 1973. A Wheel Horse pulling a troop of Girl Scouts n a trailer in a parade. It does not get more vintage than this! 2 1
