Lane Ranger 11,061 #1 Posted February 15, 2016 Let's see some snow removal pics from this snow storm Olympia ! We did not have much here in Greencastle, Indiana yesterday but it snowed from about 12:30 to 5:00 PM. We received about four inches of snow but I did get out about 5:30 and cleared the drive. I used the 314 Wheel Horse ! Let's see some more photos of your equipment!

AlwaysLookin80 1,308 #3 Posted February 15, 2016 Here's my neighbor on his horse as I post this. We got about 3 to 6 inches here in northern Indiana.
Tankman 3,520 #4 Posted February 15, 2016 All our Horses get some snow pushin' duty. One grandson loves the 416-8, another the Work Horse, I prefer the '90 520-8 but would rather pick bananas in Key West.
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #5 Posted February 15, 2016 Just got in from the first round of plowing. It was about three inches with a total forecast for maybe six inches in areas. Now the forecast is revised for up to eight inches. An hour later and it doesn't even look like I did anything! I have a feeling that I will be making one more trip to my four neighbors and my driveway. The bad part is that it will move to freezing rain tonight as it warms. Up to 1/4" for that part of Olympia so tomorrow might be dicier than today. The new Kenda K502 Terra Trac tires worked great even without the wheel weights but with the four suitcase weights on the back., It walked right up one neighbor's steep driveway. There are photos from todayof the tires' tracks in the snow to show how aggressive these tires are in my original tire install posting. I am pleased with the UHMW edge as well.
Martin 2,133 #6 Posted February 15, 2016 didn't get any pics, was having too much fun......... Had a lot of drifting, most places up to the height of the blade, but overall i would say we had 4". The wind placed it up to blade height for more fun though......
KC9KAS 4,741 #7 Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) @Lane Ranger we only got around 1.5" yesterday. The temperature got up to 35*F today, so the streets were all clear as well as the drive when I got home from work. To be honest, it won't hurt my feelings if I don't have to plow any at all this winter! Damn, I must be getting old and/or depressed! The Work Horse was in a barn, 10 years unused. Was headed to scrap. Owner gave it to me to "help" and no charge to haul it. Had an unused 48" SD deck and, still in the box, mule drive. SPINJIM 1,981 #13 Posted February 16, 2016 I know it's a little OVERKILL, but I wanted to try the snowthrower on today's 3 inches of snow. I ran the C-120 (saved from a junkyard) in 3rd gear high, and did the whole driveway in five minutes. Took longer to shovel around the cars than it took to snowblow.
can whlvr 993 #14 Posted February 16, 2016 no snow up here,we have received a few inches the past few days, not enough to blow, heres the snow herd that hasn't been used this year, weird winter for us,not one storm worthy of a thrower
WNYPCRepair 1,923 #15 Posted February 16, 2016 We got about 6 to 8 inches overnight. Used the blower first, then the blade to clean up. Then I did the driveways for two neighbors.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,358 #16 Posted February 16, 2016 All we got in Richmond was about 1 1/2" of snow then sleet and freezing rain. Open door to let dog out about 11:00 PM fell and busted my butt . Lucky nothing hurt. Went out about 8:00 AM this morning still slick. Now 12:30 PM sun shining and about 55 degrees. Going to walk the dog.
WNYPCRepair 1,923 #17 Posted February 16, 2016 I found the gallon of used oil I had sitting by the trash can to take to one of my dealerships to go in the oil heater. My snowblower is nicely oiled inside now, I bet. I was wondering why the snow coming out was suddenly brownish black, then the jug came flying out, LOL

The snow soaked it right up I also found my cold weather gear in the basement, and thought I was in heaven. Until I tried to put it on, LOL. I was a lot skinnier back then. It fit loose back then, so I thought I might be able to fit in it, but no go. I was still able to wear the boots though. My feet were nice and toasty.
953 nut 56,613 #20 Posted February 17, 2016 I had already moved to Florida prior to the 1978 blizzard that hit central NY, but this is the road to the family farm about four days after it hit!
WNYPCRepair 1,923 #21 Posted February 17, 2016 I'm confused. I'm not from Buffalo, I moved here in 89. People here refer to the blizzard of 77, yet everything I read says the blizzard of 78. Were there two?
Lane Ranger 11,061 #22 Posted February 17, 2016 1978 Bizzard here in Indiana - a gallon of milk went to $20.00 ! No bread and plenty of snow!
TDF5G 2,069 #23 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) I'm a little disappointed. They said on the radio that we've received a total of 5" this season here in the KC area. I was looking forward to trying out my B-100 I bought last summer. She's all dressed up with no where to go! I was kinda hoping for a good 6" to push. Although I do enjoy the warm temps we're having. Forecast is 72 tomorrow! Edited February 17, 2016 by TDF5G

You have no idea how much milk farmers were having to dump because the trucks were unable to get to the farm and the bulk milking tanks have to be emptied within 72 hours. Cows have to be milked and fed, farmers lose a bunch of money in situations like this.
ericj 1,578 #25 Posted February 18, 2016 during the blizzards of 78, 83 i lived at home and we just went down the road and got milk straight from the bulk tank on the farm. with all of the Rutter's, farm stores and all of the other convenience and super markets i didn't think we would ever see a milk shortage during a big storm, but in 96 blizzard roads were closed for 3 days to a week in some places so the milk trucks couldn't get to the farms to pick up and the stores ran out of milk for several days eric j
