bull gear missing most of tooth........so need one

Recommended Posts

Well I opened it up to drain out the h2o and the wd40. Guess its gonna have to come all apart. I'll be looking for a new bull gear as mine is missing most of one tooth, from what I can see the rest looks pretty decent....but that has yet to be confirmed!   AND I know the rest of that tooth is just waiting to get jammed into something causing a catastrophic failure.

:text-imsorry:         Not what you wanted to see, but better to find it this way rather than having it do more damage.

May want to PM @stevasaurus, he is the man on these transmissions and probably can fix you up with parts.

Make sure you read the manual on taking apart the trans..."sec I".  There is a trick to getting the mushroom gear and the differential out of the casing.  :)  You do not want to break off the little nubbies where the bolts go to hold on the side plates.  If you have not seen this thread yet, check it out.  :)

I will be checking it out for sure!! I watched a couple video's that were posted.........I am fairly mechanically inclined so if I take my time ..............with my back its all I am capable of.................I should be ok. One thing I like about these tractors is EVERYTHING is tiny. I,  however am 6'4" and about 265 lbs.................I may look a little silly on it But, I have wanted one for some time.   Steve,  since you chimed in .....may I ask if you happen to have the gear I need??        THANKS!!!!

It is possible that Lane and I will have an extra bull gear differential for you.  Are you in a hurry?  When you get yours apart, post some pictures of that and the other gears.  :)

Right now I am working on a transmission trilogy and not positive what is spare yet.  If you want to follow along on this, here is the link.  I am thinking we will be able to help you out.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

  1. Hi Steve........Appreciate that. I am not really in a hurry. I am currently painting it all up Piece by piece...............again Luckily for me there all REAL small parts. Then I still have to get the k91 running..............The other gears in the tranny LOOK good from what I can see...but..............It does have to all come apart. Its something I can take my time with...............I can drive around at shows on my panzer for now.

Well, That should pose no problem for me.................Everything takes me a little longer to get done. I have some significant back problems that limit driving to short duration only......at best.......PA is just  WAY TOO FAR ! Wish I could go though!!!   I was previously more of an engine collector, however over the last few years I have taken more of an interest in tractors...........Easier to move them around.......Turn a key and go.... and you can drive them around at shows. So far.... I have the pieces in primer at my friends shop....maybe later this week I can start shooting the red topcoat. I also have a couple pics of the steering wheel and seat...the gentleman I bought it from said he thought they were not correct, but now after looking at others photos.  maybe they are right............regardless that's whats going on it though......close enough!!!!  I will be reading up on taking the tranny down correctly Thanks for the info!!

That seat is probably right.  :handgestures-thumbupright:  Not sure about the steering wheel, but it looks like it belongs. Take it easy, I am sure we can figure this out.
