jeremygibbs42 3 #1 Posted January 23, 2016 Hi I recently acquired a dozer blade 42BC01 for free. I believe it is the 42" blade. I currently own a 312-8 and attempted to attach the blade however it seems that it is "too short." The bracket which mounts the handle to change the direction of the blade seems to be directly under the right foot rest/brake pedal side. I attached the blade to the rear and can only assume that the blade is too short. Does anybody know if the 42BC01 will fit the 312-8 or if there is anymore information I need to get to see if it will fit. Thanks
WNYPCRepair 1,914 #2 Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Pictures of the plow and frame would help. Does the frame look like this, and if so, it appears the bar for the back hitch can go in either set of holes. I am just going by the diagram, so I could well be wrong Edited January 23, 2016 by WNYPCRepair
squonk 41,017 #3 Posted January 23, 2016 Yes, make sure bar #2 is in the back set of holes.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,031 #4 Posted January 23, 2016 If you look at this list you will see you are missing the first 2 digits of the model number but makes no difference. They are basically all the same. (1976-1980) http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=%2242BC01%22&type=downloads_file Unfortunately we don't have a manual for any of these but this one should work (1981-1984) http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=%2242BC02%22&type=downloads_file The 1974-1984 C-Series tractors became the 300-Series in 1985 Here is the blade sold in 1986 for your tractor. The only difference is likely that it is 48" wide instead of 42" and the angle lever may be different. A bend or two would correct it. Garry
Lane Ranger 10,943 #5 Posted January 23, 2016 I think on some models you may also have to turn the pivot blade handle around for the handle to clear the footrest???
varosd 1,185 #6 Posted January 23, 2016 like Lane Ranger stated, flip the handle around and see if that works. any pictures?
shallowwatersailor 3,213 #7 Posted January 23, 2016 I bought a 42" plow from an older model that had a handle that was straight. I needed to find the handle with the offset shown in the diagram for it to fit.

jeremygibbs42 3 #9 Posted January 23, 2016 Hi Guys, I posted some pics. You can see where the that bracket is just under the foot rest. Thanks for any advice!!
doc724 925 #10 Posted January 23, 2016 You have the plow mounted incorrectly. You need to have the rear tach a matic hitch (item 46 in WNYPC repairs posting) which mounts to the rear axle. The plow does not go into the transaxle where the rear tow hitch goes

jeremygibbs42 3 #12 Posted January 23, 2016 doc724, I have the tach a matic hitch. Do you have a picture to show how the plow is supposed to be installed with the tach a matic hitch. I went to the link from Dennis Thornton comment but a lot of the pictures say "not available." Thanks again
varosd 1,185 #13 Posted January 23, 2016 you need one of theses to mount to the real axle then the rear rod of the plow frame locks up into it. How did you get the rear to hook up up the way you did?
