homemade 3 pt hittch

Hi , im new to this forum. I have two wheel horses that im always fooling around with and joined to get more involved. I have a 520-h and a 310-8 my current project is making up a cat 0 three point hittch for the 520 i was wondering if anyone else has attempted to make one. its almost finished I just have to figure out a way to lift it. i made a linkage out of flat stock that goes to the lift cylender for the attachments I just have to make a shaft for the lift arms abd have to figure out lift links aby ideas?

   Looks like you have a good start toward a 3 point hitch.   I suppose if you were to make up a rocker shaft mounted above the arms and use a cylinder mounted toward the bottom to push up the rocker it can be done. May be best to use a separate pump to provide the hydraulics, others may know more than I do on this and will chime in.

Have you studied the 3 ph models WH sold?  I've not.  I don't own a WH 3 pt but would like to.  You have so little room to work in hydraulics or electric but it's been done, by WH and others.

i'll get more pics on here soon, but as far as lifting it im trying to utilize the original lift cylender i made a linkage to the back from the first arm the cylender moves on the left side and will make up some kind of shaft that it will actuate. but plan B is going to be a hydraulic pump driven off the pto and mounted in the front            attach-amatic and a small cylender probably mounted right to the lift arms because there's really no practical place to mount it vertically and turn the shaft. And yes i have looked at some of the other WH 3 points, the mounts i made for the lower links i kind of copied from a GT 14 but the real challenge was finding a place for the top link mount without cutting out the fender I really don't want to do that because its a really clean machine

sorry about the bad welds im still learning theres two top link mounts one above the fender the main frame is bolted to the carrige bolts that hold the plow mount on shown in the third picture. to hold up the main frame in the middle i used the bottom halves of an old bagger mount i had for the 310. the second to last pic is the brackets for the lower arms and yes i had to add a reciever hitch . and the last pic is the lift linkage

Did you move the gas tank somewhere else, or will it still fit in there somehow?

well once its done i plan to solder up a steel tank to take up any extra room back there I know i will sacrifice a little less storage

I thought about using the mount for the lower arms off a GT 14, but I wanted a reciever hitch just below the trans

I am here in New Milford. A buddy of mine and I came up with a solid design lifting using the rock shaft and no other lift cylinder needed. I am out of town now so cannot post pics but look up Tombo three point hitches in search.mmight not have info on the new site but on the old. We wanted to sell them but not enough interest.

Think about such a project quite often.

 

Wonder is one could add a curved mount for the top link to the rock shaft that lifts the lower arms. Have it so the top mount is below the fender pan when down and have it swing around the pan and end up above the pan when up.

pictures would be a big help 

  just got to figure out a rock shaft now . my intentions for the project was to use a cat 0 subsoiler to run sprinklers in my future "mini- orchard" do you think the cylender would be strong enough to provide down force? I know from using the snowplow on my 520 that little cylender is beefy enough to lift the front wheels off the ground.

The hydro was strong enough to lift at least 200+ but also depends on the arm length.
