Just picked this this up over the new year, think its a c120 needs some tlc, ( new bearing in PTO, wheel has has slid on axle, needs a new battery,) but seems solid, the decks going up for sale if anyone needs one, I bought it as a parts tractor but its too good to break, so its gonna be the main mowing tractor now, so I can have a dedicated Rotavator tractor,

Started working on it this afternoon, the stack exhaust the p.o's installed has allowed rain water down into the engine, so some clean up needed there, on the plus side it's not seized,

I think a little Marvel Mystery Oil through the  exhaust could help out with the water problem, hope that works out OK.

The p.o did indeed have ducks, and some bigger tractors, seemed a nice bloke, he said he hasn't ran it in a year since the PTO crumbled, so that explains the water ingress, I think it'll clear if I spin it over with the spark plug out, doesn't seem too bad. Waiting for the weather to brighten up so I can work on it, as my workshop is being sqautted in by goats at the moment! Worse case scenario its gonna donate some bits to my other c120, though I'm not convinced this is a c120 tbh, there's a few differences and the p.o thought it was a raider 12 , so it will remain a mystery till I read the seriel number I guess

well its up and running, cleaned up and re-gapped the points, drained a lot of water out the sump and cylinder head. fresh oil, clean petrol and a set of jump leads off the landy and off she went! engine runs smooth and clean considering it was parked up for a year outside. so very very pleased with it considering what I payed for it, just the pto to deal with when i get chance!

Looks like a Raider to me, I have a 101 and 161 and they both have the regulator on the bulkhead, and a different style steering wheel.

Are you going to run the lights? I'm looking for the back part of the front lights for one of mine if you are interested in selling that bit?

Very nice tractor. Looks like it's been well cared for. You need to pick up a rain cap at Tractor Supply for that exhaust stack.

rain cap, is defiantly being bought! jam jar is on it for the time being, horse 46 sorry but the light bucket was actually the primary reason i bought it, as my c120s missing hers, for what the tractor cost me i figured i could justify it, its just been a bit of a bonus that it runs,

Nice find, looks like a C120, don't think it's a raider as it has separate brake/clutch.

I think it was a bit of a steal, for £180 it was just down the road from me in cornwall, and I figured why not, id been looking for a light bucket for forever,(also messaged the guy on fleabay about that bonnet! small world )  and a spare transmission just in case, plus the deck was good on it, (though it is soaking in a tub of red diesel right now as it hasn't been used in forever) plus the clutch pedal on my other one is snapped off ( how the blazes do you manage that! abused much?) by the p.o., I foolishly told the other half i was going to buy it take the bits i wanted and part out the rest on fleabay. but it really is too nice to break, so i guess i've got another one now. much to her disgust! I've ran the model number on the Toro website and indeed meadowfield is right its a c120 (pto matches my other tractor) I never realised the raider had a combined brake clutch  . Does any one know how to date the year of manufacture on the serial numbers? just out of curiosity, id like to know which of my c120s is older, the new one has a steering wheel like my norlett commander ( wheelhorse a90 special) whereas my original one has a far more solid one with two spokes and an embossed wheel horse badge in the centre , the new one also has an ammeter while the other doesnt ( though this could have been removed by a p.o)

on another note, are you interested in breaking your c161 you have for parts(if you still have it), completely understand if not!  just though id check on the off chance, now that  I'm still looking for a clutch pedal due to my inability to stick to a plan! just don't tell her indoors! and maybe the complete PTO bell (should be the same as the one I have, cant see why not!), save me going down the road to borrow my mates hydraulic press to remove the  bearing in the one i have!

You can't date them based on serial number, but you can get an idea. Only the Model number can be used to date these Tractors assembled in Belgium.

In U.S built Models, some of which were imported had a 'Julien Build Date' Number stamped on the Plate.

Your Steering Wheel is British built and supplied to the Assembly Plant in Belgium, as well as many of the Seats fitted (like yours).     

Looking at your first C-120 pics in your initial July Thread, that Tractor is the older one I reckon. Pics in this thread of your latest are, from what I can see show it as a date of around 75 or later. They changed the style and retainers of the front Rims in 75/76 (in U.S), It appears you have the later style wheels?, unless they are retro fit by someone.

Belgium used up surplus parts to build Tractors,  so they don't always conform to Parts List Spec of a certain Model/Year.

So what are the Model  and Serial Numbers?.

My Tractor numbers appear in my signature at the bottom here if you want a comparison, and yes, one is a Single Pedal (72) and the other 2 pedal (74)

I was going to break it but I now have a decent deck and the motor from the 101 is going in it (runs good) so it seems a waste tbh.

I have watched the parts on eBay not sell for months so that kinda puts me off to.

I may consider just selling minus the motor, I could sell the deck and maybe keep the motor for a spare.

My original plan was to buy it for the motor as i don't need or really have the space for two, but then I found another really good deck.

if you were not so far away I'd be tempted, but Wales is a lot of motorway miles for my poor old truck (and my back, only 23 and my backs shot, from that bloody truck!)

serial for this one is 144623

 

the other one is 151606

 

i was kinda hoping one of the digits in the serial dictated year, guess that would have been to simple! both tags have Amnor Belgium on, so not US imports

Both are 1975 -ish  then !. If the front wheels are bolted retainers, then someone has replaced the front wheels for the later version.

If they are retained by 'E' or 'C' Clips, then they also changed the Spindles. No issue with that, but makes it awkward to I.D. correctly.

Got any numbers off the Kohler?.

Somewhere in this mess is the parts list for your engine made for the Hesston Co. (Found it on page 18 but no list shows up. Will keep looking)

That's Debbie, shes a 1979 series 3 landrover 109" pickup, its my daily driver and work truck, 2.25 four cylinder petrol 80hp, body is all aluminium, shes fairly rough and ready, syncros gone on the gear box, so you gotta double clutch, no power steering ( the torque steer is incredible when its in 4wd) back window got smashed in the woods 3 months ago and I still haven't fixed it. Plus it looks like she was painted by a blind man with a broom!
