WHX?? 49,484 #26 Posted December 21, 2016 Thanks for the tip on the color temp Sarge... I never could figure out the whole color thing even for house lights, CFL's & such ... white...cool white ... warm white etc.
Sarge 3,464 #27 Posted December 21, 2016 Nice open sunlight is down around 3200K and it's not easy to duplicate it either , hence most cheap led's being in the 5-6K range . There are flood and spot lights available in lower color temps but they aren't nearly as common as the cheaper and more blue spectrum lamps . The ones I really dislike are north of 6500K and the tuner kids running ones as high as 12,000K color - that's the purple lights you see on some of those cars . Those lamps even with being very high power HID types do not light up pavement hardly at all - they especially don't light up our work zone barricades and barrels , let alone us workers on night jobs . Almost got picked off by a kid in the middle of the night last year and the State Trooper sitting with us chased him down and ticketed him for those lamps - they are illegal nationwide .
