RedRider 120 #5 Posted November 27, 2015 I picked one up recently too, but it's pretty ugly right now. The tractor runs as smooth as can be, but cosmetically it will need a redone sometime in the future. The serial tag sticker is all but gone and the plate on the hood was never engraved with the number. I do have the Kohler serial number and was curious if there would be any correlation between that and the tractor serial numbers. If a pattern could be established, such as sequential numbering of engine serial numbers used for the 420-LSE tractors, then perhaps I could get a close estimate of where mine was on the production line. 8
USAFPJ 24 #6 Posted November 27, 2015 You guys have cleaner ones then I have. Terry the venial guy has made up the decals FOR 420 LSE, and they look great if you folks are looking there on his web page. Yes I too hope I can get the number of mine as well. TunaSlayet 88 #12 Posted December 3, 2015 I have the ugliest duckling, but it is really a LSE. Looking for a louvered hood, and I am getting a decal set. It is getting a complete overhaul next summer, so hopefully it will be saved from a rusty death. This one is and always be a worker. I was curious if anyone had an indication of how loud their LSE was. I have a 417-8 , and being a similar motor, I thought they would be about he same, but my LSE is VERY loud. Is it possible my muffler is gutted, or were they designed to be a little louder from the factory? Anyway, great pictures! Ill be following along to see all the clean ones, and continue to dream.
whfan74 2,066 #13 Posted December 5, 2015 One of mine is #85 and the other one is not stamped on the plate and the decal is too faded. Also.....the one that buck rancher owns has never been started. It is a beauty! 4

Pilgrim 27 #16 Posted May 22, 2016 New member, long time lurker here. I wanted to share my most recent Wheel Horse acquisition. It's #71. As you can see it's in pretty rough shape. It's missing the chrome wheels, leather seat, chrome mule drive, and chrome deck wheels. I recall when the original owner traded this in about 10-12 years ago to the original dealer who sold it. It was used, but definitely not abused. It was then purchased by another gentleman who had it for a short time. He was the one who stripped the chrome parts and seat off of it. It was then in turn sold to someone else who used it up until it's current state. The hour meter quit working at 1002 hours, the engine smokes a little, the paint is faded, and it needs miscellaneous small parts. The drive belt idler pulley was bad and it kept throwing belts, so I was able to pick it, along with a fair 48" deck and 42" front blade for $300. Hopefully the gentleman who swiped the chrome parts and leather seat still has them and would be willing to let them go. But for now it's going to make a fine worker. 9

Cable 179 #21 Posted June 18, 2016 Mine is serial number 098. Not shown on the hood plate but was barely visible on the fender pan decal. I think it would be grate if all of them could come to the WHCC show.

whfan74 2,066 #23 Posted July 25, 2016 @Cable has the 420 ever been the featured tractor at the show in Arendtsville? If not, might be kind of nice to piggy back off of the 520's.
